Should large busted ladies avoid high necks?

For what seems like forever, the advice for big norked ladies has been to avoid high necks, which can create a ‘shelf’ and go for v neck or low scoop neck. Whilst I don’t think this is not true, I’m starting to feel less stylish in that type of top.

I am a 30FF with a long, slightly ageing face and body and I feel like having more skin exposed drags my face down and it also looks less ‘sharp’ and modern. Seems to look better if I actually cover up around my décolletage and break the line up with a blazer or cardigan. Also cosier for this time of year, I wouldn’t go as a high as a roll neck as I feel like I am being strangled but something like this which previously I would have avoided like the plague: www.jaeger.co.uk/compact-knit-t-shirt-47b716

I know there’s the option of a big necklace but not sure statement necklaces are all that fashionable at the moment.

Does anyone else have this dilemma and what are you wearing these days?

I'm 38gg and wear a lot of those Boden Victoriana blouses and they look lovely. V necks can sometimes look old fashioned I feel unless wrap tops.

Since when were V necks dated?! Confused I several lovely v necked tops from ASOS, that are really flattering.

I think that top is gorgeous and would defintely go for that, in fact I have one very similar in a rust colour. I really struggle to find clothes that suit (I feel I have many body issues to contend with when clothes shopping!) I'm only 5' 1 and a size 8 but have a 30G bust. NO , this isn't fun! All my bras seem to look like hammocks, even the 'pretty' ones because the straps and cups need to be quite big to have any effect in holding them up. If I buy shirts they need to be big enough to fasten over my boobs but then they look a little 'tent like' because they hang from my boobs and look like I have no waist. If I get a fitted top (t shirt/jumper) then it looks like my boobs are greeting you and the rest of me will meet you in 5 ! High necks are a definite no go for me, it's just obscene. I HATE CLOTHES SHOPPING. I have recently bought a few boat neck tops which seem to suit me quite well, and wearing a blazer/jacket/cardigan or something over a t shirt /top creates the illusion of a v and cuts the 'full on' boobage.

My friend avoids jumpers with high necks as she ends up with the Monoboob look.

Madamshazem. V necks are good as they take the eye away from the chest . I find Polo neck jumpers give me the Monoboob effect .

I think high necks can make larger boobs look top-heavy. Also, there’s loads of v-necks in the shops.

Have you considered wrap tops and dresses?
