Does anyone use Stitch Fix

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 19/01/2020 14:08

Hi just wondered whether anyone uses Stitch Fix. I have just started a new office job and all my clothes are about 4-5 years old now so I was hoping for a wardrobe refresh and some inspiration and these online companies seem to do this.

I saw them on Facebook, there is another few companies too if anyone has any experience of them i'd love to hear it.

Just really wanted some feedback.

Its kind of similar to Lookiero - if that helps.

Never heard of them, sorry. (Helpful bump)

IShouldBeSoLurky · 19/01/2020 14:25

I tried them. Got two orders and there was nothing in either I liked even enough to try on. It’s a good idea but they just completely missed the mark for me.

muddledmidget · 19/01/2020 14:32

I also got two orders from stitch fix and didn't keep any of it. I found tge products they selected were either basics but overpriced (£65 for a long grey cardigan or £36 for a black turtle neck) or just not my style at all.

Rosere · 19/01/2020 14:47

I've heard of them only because a lady I know (whose dress I admired) uses them. I've not personally tried them but she and her sister have only positive experiences. It suits their lifestyle. They get sent stuff, try it on, keep what they like - basically a personal shopper service is my understanding.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 19/01/2020 17:12

I've just actually found a free one from Marks and Spencers so I've signed up to that. Nothing to lose, it's free.

Let’s hope they don’t send you any knickers.

Northernsoullover · 19/01/2020 17:21

I did the year long questionnaire.. then I saw the prices Shock I have seen the m & s one so I'll have a look at that..

TuttiFrutti · 19/01/2020 17:58

I have used them for a few months now and love them! I'm sure it depends on who your individual stylist is though - you have an option to change stylist or keep the same one.

I've got some lovely clothes which I would never have found, or which I might have seen but wouldn't have picked up in a shop - things that once you try them on, look fantastic. It's a great treat to get a parcel every month, with stuff chosen for you personally by someone who knows what they are doing (hopefully, or they're in the wrong job). You only pay for what you keep. You can choose your price limits so it can be very reasonable, and you get a 20% discount if you keep everything, which I have a couple of times.

I would recommend.

Anyone got a link to the M&S one please

Hopefully this will help kittykatkitty

I signed up last year and have had two deliveries so far.

I liked some of what I was sent. There was one jumper which I thought wasn't me until I put it on and it looked great.

I think the more feedback you give the stylist the better. Some of the things I was sent in my first delivery matched the brief if given them but weren't my thing at all.

I've arranged to have a delivery every three months and I'll trial it for a year then review.

ChipsRoastOrBoiled · 20/01/2020 07:18

I use both Lookiero and StitchFix and I love them.
You set up profiles on each; height, weight, hair & eye colour likes and dislikes etc. With Lookiero, you can give access to your Pinterest style inspiration board, too, to help your stylist even more.
You can elect to have boxes monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or on demand. Theres a tenner stling fee but this is deducted from any purchases you make and you get a further discount if you keep everything.
Every month you give feedback on the items sent, and you can ask to stay safe, be a little more adventurous or go very different.
It's a learning experience between you & your stylist, but you can ask for a different stlist5if the one allocated isn't working for you.
Lookiero is based on the continent and I like receiving things from European brands i might not have heard of. StitchFix is in the UK and have set up some of their own brands. This concerns me a bit as I think they're more likely to send me their isn stuff, rather than look at a wider range if brands.
Both come with no obligation to keep any pieces and return is easy, via a prepaid sticker for a bag or box. You can also set price ranges and exclude accessories or other things.
If I had to pick one, I think it would be Lookiero. I can see how the stylist has looked at what I've written, and at my Pinterest board, when I receive the parcels. I'd definitely say they are worth a try, but give it 2 or 3 boxes to see how the service develops.

IamwhoIsayIam · 20/01/2020 16:07

I've used StitchFix and really enjoyed both the experience and what I received. I had things from a good range of brands and I kept two out of five items. As its free to return and easy to use I don't think you've got anything to lose, well I guess £10 if you keep nothing at all, as that is the stylist fee. I'm now looking forward to my second box.

If anyone wants to give it a try and receive £15 credit here is my code:

That's funny, a friend asked me this in real life the other day and I told her to try the free one from M&S first!

I tried Stitch Fix, had two deliveries. I think I tried 3 or 4 items on in total. Perhaps I'm too picky but the only things I liked were items I basically already own if you see what I mean. So I cancelled.

I might consider if I had something specific in mind but tbh I consider myself quite a discerning shopper so it's prob not for me!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 22/01/2020 17:43

I wasn't a fan - I'm 5ft 3 ins and busty, which seemed to cause major fit and sizing issues! I do better with my local shopping centre's personal shopper (who has a similar figure so knows what works).

BBBear · 22/01/2020 17:46

I’ve had 3 boxes. The first two were good and I kept thing I would never normally have bought (didn’t look great on the hangar but really suited me when tried on). The last box had nothing in it that I liked. I’m going to continue. I have the 3 month option and I don’t mind paying £10 delivery - I rather like getting the box!

I’m going to check out the M&S one now.

BBBear · 22/01/2020 17:48

My code, if anyone wants to try - I think we both get £15 off.

Sazquatch · 22/01/2020 17:48

I tried it once and it was bloody terrible. In my profile I said I was a size 14 and my stomach was an area I wanted to hide - I got a tight crop top! I also said I have a 33” inside leg and got sent size 12 short length jeans. The rest of it fit but was incredibly boring stuff.

LindsayDentonLOD · 22/01/2020 18:10

I’ve just signed up to this, wish I’d seen the codes! Ahh well, should get my first ‘fix’ Monday. Hoping I like it!

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 26/01/2020 13:44

I'm going to sign up for Lookiero and Stitch Fix too but just wanted to ask you how does payment for these items work? Do they take the money out of your account when they send you the clothes and then you have a refund for anything you return or do they send you stuff, give you a chance to try them on and then bill you?

Have signed up for M and S about 4 days ago and got an email saying they would contact me shortly but have heard nothing since. I guess there's no rush though

Tks

I've lost a lot of weight over the last 3 years and finally settled to a size I'm likely to be or decently fit into for the next 6 months or so, and I have no idea what my style is anymore after years in stretchy items only so I signed up to stitch fix and lookiero

My stitch fix box was pretty amazing, kept all but one item and that was a jacket which I did like but it was slightly tight on my arms and too big on the waist (so no point keeping it because my waist is only gonna keep getting smaller bit by bit) I kept a necklace, a v necked shirred waist fit n flare dress, a velvet skirt and a wrap style top

My lookiero one sent 5 items and I've kept 3. I'm keeping a biker jacket, some jeans and a blouse but sending back a skirt which was way too big and not really me, and a jumper which was a gorgeous soft fabric but too high necked for me (very busty) and a terrible colour on me (coral)

I'm absolutely living in the jeans they are amazing. Pretty impressed with both companies though I feel stitch fix 'gets' me more and I specifically asked for a long sleeved v neck fit n flare dress and they delivered with possibly the best one I've ever seen in my life for my taste

lubeybooby · 26/01/2020 13:55

oh and payment wise you only pay once you've tried things on and decided what to keep. You get something like 5 days to do this then another 3 days to get the items in the post back to them

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 26/01/2020 13:55

I've tried stitch fix. They take the £10 for the service but don't charge for the clothes until you accept them.

I kept one frock that I wouldn't otherwise have tried but last time was hopeless - really awful quality clothes from a brand I'd never heard of. Quality-wise, think Peacocks, but for Whistles prices. I sent it all back and have been offered a free selection this time round. I'm giving it one more go.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 26/01/2020 14:10

My latest stitch fix arrived yesterday. It was very nearly exactly what I would have chosen for myself. I am returning a dress only because I already have an almost identical one, and a jumper which is gorgeous but comes up slightly too short for me. Otherwise it's great.
