Does anyone use Stitch Fix

Hi just wondered whether anyone uses Stitch Fix. I have just started a new office job and all my clothes are about 4-5 years old now so I was hoping for a wardrobe refresh and some inspiration and these online companies seem to do this.

I saw them on Facebook, there is another few companies too if anyone has any experience of them i'd love to hear it.

Just really wanted some feedback.

The M&S one was so bad it mad me howl Grin
I'd asked for quirky and to 'push my style' to see what they came up with and it was like they'd misread it for 'I'm judging a cake at the local WI and Mary Berry is my idol.
Interested to see how others get on.

think im on my 9th box now, some have been hit and miss but on the whole i love getting my boxes and I've definitely got things i wouldn't have bought myself so well worth it.

If you want a code here is mine

lubeybooby · 26/01/2020 14:29

@GinandGingerBeer I just signed up to the m&s one and ticked the 'push me' option thing so I'm bracing myself for their suggestions now Shock

I tried Stitch Fix when stuck in a bit of a style rut post baby. The things they sent were nice but the quality was absolutely awful - jeans that went baggy at the knee after 1 wear, a jumper that went so bobbly it had to be thrown out etc. I was really disappointed as the items weren't cheap and were supposed to be a treat to make me feel a bit more like "me".
I have subsequently had an analysis done with Styled by Susie which gave me a lot more ideas about shapes, colours, styles etc which has made shopping a lot easier as I can generally make a bee line for things I know will fit and suit me.

I’ve had my first delivery now, it seems ok, will try them on later to see if I keep anything.

motherofdoodles · 27/01/2020 16:12

Argh wish I'd seen the codes! Got my first stitch fix box today. I returned three of the five items but actually only one of them I didn't like. The others I just didn't like enough. Happy so far! My next box isn't until end of April now.

Have I been living under a rock?
Never heard of this!
Thanks for the M&S link, I'm all signed up Smile

WatchingTVagain · 04/02/2020 23:10

I'm now signed up to the M&S one. Looking forward to seeing what they suggest (and luckily my DM gets 20% off). My matched stylist is Jodie!

Squirrelwithaflute · 05/02/2020 07:34

Just went to have a nosey on stitch fix...only carry up to size 18. I'm a 20 so that's me out...shame really

shinyhappypeeps · 05/02/2020 08:43

I tried them - the first parcel was great - kept two of the items - could have kept 3 but that would have been an expensive month - however the top (Mint Velvet) I found reduced in John Lewis the next week so I was a bit miffed I'd paid full price for it.

The issue I have is that when they send you a link to "like or not" the ideas of what your style is I am clicking on things that I like but they are things I already have in my wardrobe - I am not going to click on things that I am not going to wear so in the next parcel along comes a pair of black jeans as I clicked that I would wear these - I don't want to be SENT black jeans though - I can source these myself at half the price from H&M!!

I also the turnaround time to try on and send back was too short - albeit I flagged this up to them and they were flexible with this.

So unfortunately I stopped my subscription after two months but the two items I did buy I have worn to death..

MuchasSmoochas · 05/02/2020 08:49

I’ve had two and not been impressed! I was very clear that I have broad shoulders and a big bust, and I wanted to avoid “glam” clothes. They sent a see through chiffon blouse with silver stars. And a work shirt that I couldn’t button. Also burgundy trousers that had Lycra in them 😤

MuchasSmoochas · 05/02/2020 08:49

Oh and the M and S one is really good!

bohemia14 · 05/02/2020 09:01

I really like the M&S service. I look forward to the weekly email and have purchased some of the items suggested.

Karcheer · 05/02/2020 09:12

@shinyhappypeeps they've extended returns to 7 days. Also if you find it cheaper, they'll match the price. I've had to do that twice.

shinyhappypeeps · 05/02/2020 09:22

good to hear Karcheer - thanks.

Darls3000 · 18/02/2020 15:59

The Try Tuesday service is pretty good at M&S depending on who you get as your stylist and the loser feedback you give when they send you suggestions, the better they can tailor outfits for you. I’ve bought loads from the shop as a result. The not so obvious things I’d never have found trawling the website. I’ve been using it for three years now.

LoveFood · 18/02/2020 16:06

I loved mine. Only 1 so far. All were good choices for me and I kept two. The third was too big and/or too baggy in style but it's Mint Velvet so I'm keeping an eye on my local department store to try on the smaller size if it goes on sale.

The thing I loved was that one was a brand I'd never heard of and one was Mango which s a brand I just don't even consider usually. So I liked that they sent me stuff that I probably wouldn't have found myself. Admittedly one of the things I picked was from Joules and while I don't shop there often, I'm pretty sure I'd have picked this shirt up and tried it on if I did. But that's the beauty for me - I don't shop outside of my very limited local high street very often so even brands I know and like don't always come up for me.

I'm looking forward to my next box. I've only signed up for the 3 month as frankly, budgets are pretty tight. Even asking for their cheapest stuff is right at the top end of what I usually pay for anything.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 18/02/2020 22:04

If you think something is too big or too small, will they send you the next size?

Pepvixen · 23/02/2020 17:33

Not sure if they'll send you a different size TooExtra. I've only sent back things that didn't fit.

As mentioned above, they've extended returns to 7 days. I also like that they've stopped including plastic. If you want to return, you can take the whole box (they include a sticker).

I'm on box #4 and loving it. I've definitely found that it's improved each time. I've kept everything in the last two boxes.

I find that it works best when I say what types of things I'm looking for, eg a cardigan, t-shirt and a midi-skirt.

I'm definitely wearing brands that I'd never have found before and a wider variety of brands.

Here's my voucher link if anyone fancies £15 off www.stitchfix.co.uk/invite/g2fyh7xwkh?sod=w&som=c
