Which vitamin C skin product do you use?

I've been using The Ordinary 23% vitamin C serum but it stings a lot on application and has an unpleasant gritty feeling and I'm getting sick of it. Which Vitamin C product do you use? Particularly interested in budget suggestions. Ta

Beauty Pie Double Vitamin C capsules. They're about £8.00 for a jar of 6. I do pay a £10 monthly subscription though.

This is excellent www.timeless-uk.com/collections/timeless-skin-care-usa/products/timeless-skin-care-20-vitamin-c-e-ferulic-acid-serum-1-oz
Not budget particularly (but similar to Skinceuticals Vit CE and ferulic which is way more expensive).

cad186 · 09/01/2020 22:03

I've just started using the timeless one.

Lollypop701 · 09/01/2020 22:04

Elizabeth Arden capsules...although not budget. I didn’t like the ordinary one either.

tinkerbellla · 09/01/2020 22:07

Murad. Really great products and they often have offers on their Instagram feed.

everyrosehasathorn · 09/01/2020 22:10

The Ordinary do many different types and strength of Vitamin C, some in oil and cream form. I’m using their powder version and I started with really teeny amounts and am slowly building up. Their vit c guide on their website is really good theordinary.com/vitcguide

Thedot90 · 09/01/2020 22:17

I use the la Roche posay one - mid price range. Works wonders, best thing I’ve added to my routine in the past 6 months

Apileofballyhoo · 09/01/2020 22:26

Garden of Wisdom, thanks to a recommendation from here. Nice texture, seems to be very hydrating as I usually look better the morning after I use it. It doesn't sting or turn orange (I keep it in the fridge). Got it from Victoria health, it's about a tenner.

I couldn't use the one from TO, it stung too much. I am going to try the timeless one eventually.

MelanieFrontage · 09/01/2020 22:41

The Ordinary 30% Vit C cream, it’s a bit stingy but I like that as it makes me feel as though it’s actually doing something 😂 It’s not at all gritty.

NewHorizons2020 · 10/01/2020 07:03

I drink an effervescent vit c tablet each day, someone's dermatology on here suggested it. That way I'm nourishing my skin from the inside out (and they are also super cheap!)

NewHorizons2020 · 10/01/2020 07:04

Should read Dermatologist, not dermatology

ILookAtTheFloor · 10/01/2020 08:03

Another recommendation for the GOW vit C here. As above it's best kept in the fridge.

mrslebon · 10/01/2020 13:34

I used to use the Ordinary one. Yucky feel to it as you say. I now use the Avon Vit C serum which is fantastic. I'm on my third bottle.

TheCanterburyWhales · 10/01/2020 14:29

I threw TO in the bin. Foul stuff.
Vichy ever-such-mad-long-name is amazing. Says it's only for a 10 day boost or something, but you can get a month out of it if you keep it in the fridge. Consistency is just a water and it's the one product that has changed my skin beyond recognition. it feels resurfaced . I love it.

Ponks · 10/01/2020 21:36

Has anyone tried the Revolution 12.5% vitamin c serum? I saw it today in Superdrug and am tempted (currently using Drunk Elephant which I really like but which is £££).

LoveSummerLife · 11/01/2020 00:17

I use the timeless one

Shmithecat2 · 11/01/2020 00:24

Timeless. Have tried so many others - I like a high %age, and all the others over 15% always feel so gritty and silicon-y. Timeless doesn't. A nice light but very effective fluid. It doesn't turn my pillowcases orange like GOW did either Hmm

Avocadosmash · 11/01/2020 00:24

Not budget but Dermalogica, actually I nearly collapsed when I got the bill.

Kwkwjwkek · 11/01/2020 00:24

Holland and barett do a vitamin c and hylaronic acid serum

Apileofballyhoo · 11/01/2020 01:19

I think your GOW might have been off Shmithecat. My first bottle - that I didn't keep in the fridge - had a tendency to stain but the second bottle is fine. Just ordered a new one as it's nearly all gone and there's been no orange at all. I will treat myself to timeless when I can though.

Lottapianos · 11/01/2020 20:57

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, really interesting. I went for Revolution 12.5% Vit C serum, a bargain at £10 (if it works!). Used it tonight for the first time and the texture is a million times nicer than The Ordinary, so off to a good start

Another vote for the Beauty Pie capsules. I've used the Drunk Elephant vitamin c serum in the past and that was also quite good.

Pinkarsedfly · 11/01/2020 21:26

Super Facialist Vit C serum. I picked it up randomly in Sainsbury’s and now I’m a convert.

Lottapianos · 11/01/2020 21:40

'Super Facialist Vit C serum. '

Was very tempted by that in Boots today, but there was no % indicated on the packaging so had no idea of the strength

Butterymuffin · 11/01/2020 21:48

I haven't used the serum but the Super Facialist Vitamin C oil cleanser smells and feels lovely and works well so I'd be inclined to give the serum a try.
