Thinking of buying

OP posts:
MustardScreams · 01/01/2020 14:51

I personally don’t rate it, but my sister thinks it’s incredible. Have you got a tabs near you so you can grab a tester?

MustardScreams · 01/01/2020 14:51

Got a stand*

Grumpbum123 · 01/01/2020 14:51

No it made my skin so greasy

VeniceBeach · 01/01/2020 15:19

I would say that it’s really heavily scented which isn’t right for everyone, and that everywhere I’ve read says that the ingredients really aren’t anything special for the high price.

Saying that, my own personal experience is that it makes my skin look really glowy and healthy. Definitely once to use as a night cream as it’s very rich and greasy. I know they do a separate night version but I don’t think that’s necessary.

I’d definitely recommend getting a tester first.

dontgobaconmyheart · 01/01/2020 15:39

I fell for the hype OP. It's very heavy and that just isn't something I enjoy so I do regret buying it as I can't bear the greasy rich feeling on my skin- even at night. Also quite a few things in it I'm not a fan of such as silicone, shea butter, essential oils (they break me out).

It's true that it leaves a glow but to be honest I can't see that it's anything you couldn't achieve by using something like the Becca backlight filter or mixing some strobe cream in to your usual moisturiser, anything very rich will give some sort of glow.

Not a fan of caroline hirons but she covers it quite well in the above, I think, and i agree with her on this.

Chottie · 01/01/2020 15:40

It really suits my skin (normal to dry) and I use it every day under foundation.

Walnutwhipster · 01/01/2020 15:46

At £100 for a tiny pot, no I won't be buying more.

Sparklyring · 01/01/2020 15:54

YES!! I got a sample pot in my advent calendar and felt in love after a couple of uses. DH just treated me to a pot and it's an absolute dream, my skin absolutely glows, just a dusting of powder and I'm good to glow... I mean go!

Ninjakittysmellz · 01/01/2020 16:03

I hated this - fell for the marketing and then was so disappointed. I use Elemis now and really love their stuff!

Bananaman123 · 01/01/2020 18:19

Sorry no experience with cream but for anyone considering the famous pilow talk lipstick and quad eyeshadows, dont, very very underwhelemd, disappointed, felt sick at home much it cost. I honestly have eyeshadows costing £4 and lipsticks same price which are so much better

Wineloffa · 01/01/2020 18:38

I fell for the marketing, forked out for a full tub and hated it.

It made my eyes stream and gave me spots.

ChequerBoard · 01/01/2020 18:41

Nope, like all the Charlotte Tilbury products it is low quality dressed up in fancy packaging.

Elemis Collagen Marine cream is light year better.

ironicname · 01/01/2020 18:42

Nivea Soft

Lots of make up artists really rate it.

Scarletoharaseyebrows · 01/01/2020 18:42

I didn't think it was great. Got half a mini pot left from an advent calendar. It's neither here nor there, really.

Dubya · 01/01/2020 18:46

I find it too heavy, and by the end of the day my face feels really oily, it doesn't even I use a different moisturiser. I didn't find anything particularly wrong with it, but I would definitely advise getting a tester before investing for the price. I tried it when it came in a mystery box.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/01/2020 18:47

Can you buy a sample on eBay?.

WelshMammaofaSlovak · 01/01/2020 19:34

£70!?!?!? Anyone paying this much money for a face cream is testament to the fact that adverts work. Our skin is a barrier layer and there are no magic ingredients worth this amount of money. By all means shell out a bit extra for a nice scent or a texture that you like but there is no science to justify the cost of this cream. I'd suggest to buy the Aldi cream or some other nice cheapie and spend the money you've saved on a nice facial or a massage because nothing gives us a glow like being rested and relaxed!

edgewater · 01/01/2020 19:41

No. It’s greasy. Get the blue pot of Nivea. Just the same.

I’m saying that as a fan of CT, particularly her light foundation.

BigButtons · 01/01/2020 19:45

Years ago I bought the CT Rick n kohl pencil. It was the most useless eyeliner I had/have ever bought.
I got the pillow talk lip cheat and lipstick very cheaply on eBay. It’s ok but no better than say Rommel.
Anyone thinking of paying stupid money for a moisturiser that can only sits on the skin should go and bug some nivea instead.
Use actives, exfoliate, use sunscreen etc.

Notagainnnn · 02/01/2020 21:30

Yes yes yes yes.

I have over 30 high end palettes and her eyeshadow is my favourite by miles!! Her lipsticks too are amazing

Notagainnnn · 02/01/2020 21:31

My husband uses it too, he isn't big on creams but loves magic cream

MustardScreams · 02/01/2020 21:35

I wish it worked for my skin. But it’s just way too thick and globby for my (very dry, psoriasis!) skin.

Milk Makeup is MUCH better and a third of the price.

Junie70 · 02/01/2020 21:38

Nope, it made my skin horrible. As for the make up, words fail me. It's utter crap. All marketing and hype over substance.

DickDewy · 02/01/2020 21:40

I am a sucker for an expensive unguent, but I was given a few samples in Space NK and I found it claggy and unpleasant.

emsyj37 · 02/01/2020 21:41

Maybe if you have very very dry skin. Otherwise no. It's very highly fragranced and thick. The Aldi Caviar cream in the silver box is fabulous. I also like Estee Lauder Daywear.
