Tbh, I think you're either wilfully or otherwise misunderstanding the point flo made. It isn't that your body shape changes, but what is emphasised by the current fashion does. So, at the moment, people wear crop tops (I do not btw) with baggy trousers and massive boots. That really suits some people, but they probably would not suit it if it wasn't in fashion.
When I read books and the author describes in detail what a character is wearing, I very often know what era the book is from just from that description. Or if I watch an old episode of Midsomer Murders, (shut up
), I can tell how old it is. Now, people tend to dress time flatter and express themselves, but most people tend to do so in line with what is currently stylish, to a degree.
You say yourself you find a version of the current silhouette which suits you.
Why is that any less daft than finding a version of this particular look which suits the season?
Again, nobody has said you have to freeze your ankles off. Obviously if it's cold, find a way round it or don't bother, but if you like the look, there are some other ways to wear it in winter, as someone suggested to me up thread.
I don't mind if you think I'm "daft", but I do find it questionable when people rock up to the fashion threads and start droning on about how impractical, frivolous and silly it all is...oh except when THEY do it. That's reasonable obvs. Anything else though, so daft
