Bum Spots

Apologies embarrassing topic but does anyone else get these ? Im
not talking pimples, i mean sore like acne type spots.

First i thought it might be from the gym, sweat etc but im getting them a lot and not just one, clusters of them.

Ive been putting Sudocrem on them which helps but never seems to get rid of them. I have scars/marks from them also.

Its embarrassing i wont let my man see my bum which obviously is not easy

Any advice please

Sorry to be personal but are they on your botty cheeks? I ask, because every now and again I am bothered by watery little spots between my cheeks. No idea what they are.

slinkysaluki · 03/10/2019 19:40

Yes actually on the cheeks, bloody sore as well some of them, nit bools but big red sore spots

Sounds like you could be pulling hairs out or sweating more and clogging pores?

What have you started wearing that could be the culprit? New tights? New leggings? Exercising more or shaving/waxing etc when you didn’t previously?

Or could it be an allergy? What are you sitting on that’s new? Couch?

It's the sweat! Wash and dry carefully after the gym and change into clean clothes, obs.

Salicylic body sprays help and will make you all smooth too. Paula's Choice is the gold standard but Boots and Superdrug do their own ones too (might be sold as back acne sprays). Then moisturise with a body cream containing AHAs or BHAs - Soap and Glory Sugarcrush (the lime one), Paula's Choice, ameliorate, any similar items.

Some kind of manual exfoliation such as a gentle body scrub or scrub tool (eg. something machine washable like charcoal scrub gloves) could help too.

Combined evening primrose/starflower oil supplements (Boots is good) will reduce spots and help give you fantastic skin all over.

Hidradenitis?

ASauvignonADay · 03/10/2019 19:59

Try Nip and Fab salicylic acid pads.

slinkysaluki · 03/10/2019 20:15

Could it be molluscum contagiosum? My girls have had it on their bums and it takes bloody ages to clear up.

Chloe9 · 03/10/2019 20:47

Sleep in loose pyjamas/nighty and no knickers. Get some air.

Sun helps too, and although obviously it's the wrong time of year and not an area people generally get out much, a little but of sunlight in summer will sort it out.

thisenglishlife · 03/10/2019 21:40

In that case, use up the glycolic first.

frugalkitty · 03/10/2019 22:30

I'm prone to Folliculitis and find that hibiscrub rubbed in as I'm getting ready for the shower or bath really keeps it clear. Nothing else has worked as well and I wish I'd known about it twenty years ago!

slinkysaluki · 03/10/2019 23:38

Thank you everyone x

Yes to hibiscrub. Very effective.

slinkysaluki · 04/10/2019 05:03

Are you quite sure they aren't bites?

I get bitten there, presumably when I'm getting changed or going in/out/to/from shower etc.

cathyandclare · 05/10/2019 09:04

Acne is not uncommon on the bum cheeks, the benzoyl peroxide could help or see your GP, especially if you're getting cysts and scarring.

Ebonyandivory2 · 05/10/2019 09:11

Cerave SA cream is highly recommended for “butt acne” I think you can only order it from America though which is annoying

Ebonyandivory2 · 05/10/2019 09:19

Oh and it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s more common than you think!

slinkysaluki · 01/11/2019 03:38

Update

Have been using Hibiscrub in shower and then applying benzoyl peroxide cream twice a day and its really improved, no more sore red spots. Sadly there is some scarring but not much i can do about that.

Thanks all for your help x
