Does anyone else find Liz Earle skincare addictive, especially the cleanser?

Whenever I move over to something else my face never feels as fresh and I end up going back to LE.

Yes, me! I tried the Aldi and Boots got cloth cleansers and they were nothing compared to Liz so I made the decision to never cheat on her again!
I try to bulk buy and look for offers on the website.

AppleBottomJeans · 23/08/2019 23:03

Totally agree. I tried the M&S version, it lasted ages but was no where near as good. I’m sticking to LE too. Although I did swap my eye make up remover (for waterproof mascara that LE doesn’t shift so well). I’ve gone from Clinique to Nivea Micellar water which is very good

The cleanser burnt my skin! I had bright red very tight sore skin for a week, then broke out in cystic acne that took two months to go. Worst reaction to anything I've ever tried. Never did pin down which ingredient had caused it but I read reviews from other people who had had the same reaction.

I have combination skin that can be dehydrated but not particularly sensitive. But I think maybe your skin has to be quite robust and 'problem' free for Liz Earle stuff. Shame. It smells nice.

SpeckledyHen · 24/08/2019 07:33

No . I can’t stand the smell so gave it away after a few pumps .

SallieSallow · 24/08/2019 10:50

I reacted to it as well - gave me an itchy rash. I’m not super sensitive & can use acid toners and retinol etc, but don’t get on with anything fragranced. I had similar issues with Elemis and decleor (used to be a QVC shopper with a TSV addiction Blush)

Apileofballyhoo · 24/08/2019 10:54

I once loved it (I got a gift of the geranium and rose one) but the eucalyptus one completely dried out my skin.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 24/08/2019 10:56

I loved the old formula but when it changed it didn't suit my skin at all.

Deathraystare · 24/08/2019 14:30

My skin can be really sensitive but I love this! I do remove waterproof mascara with a proper remover first though.

Plump82 · 24/08/2019 18:25

It didn't agree with my skin at all. I know use No7 not cloth cleanser to remove my eye makeup and a £2 face wash from primark and my skins never been better.

Isleepinahedgefund · 24/08/2019 19:28

I used to use the cleanser when it was the first of its type, but there are so many better/cheaper alternatives now.

What I love from Liz Earle is the Brightenting Treatment Mask - I cannot be without it Proper quick pick me up for the my skin on a midweek early work morning!

Loopytiles · 24/08/2019 19:30

After several years my skin started to react to the moisturiser!

HermioneWeasley · 24/08/2019 19:33

I used to use it. I make my own oil cleanser now - cheap as chips. Costs me less than £5/year

RushianDisney · 24/08/2019 19:37

I love the cleanser, it works fantastically for me, I like the tight feeling it leaves. I have recently got a sample of a powder cleanser from Guy Morgan which is even better than LE though, and I got so many uses from the sample I'm getting a fullsize version on payday as I'm sure it will last an age. I tend to get through LE quite quickly so it's not economical (especially as DP uses it too when I have it)

citygirl1961 · 24/08/2019 21:08

Plump82 - isn't the No7 hot cloth cleanser scented? I like No7 make up but have gone off their skin care as they've started to put scent in it.

I know that Liz Earle is scented but its natural oils so they say.

BearFoxBear · 24/08/2019 22:29

I had an appalling reaction to it, wrecked my skin for months and months.

Plump82 · 25/08/2019 21:30

Citygirl1961 it is scented but I haven't had any reactions from it.....touch wood!

stoplickingthetelly · 25/08/2019 21:33

It doesn’t suit me at all. The cleanser gave me spots and my skin is pretty clear usually.

LolaSmiles · 25/08/2019 21:34

I loved the original formula.

They've done something different to it in recent years and it's not quite the same.i have dry/sensitive skin and it still works well for me but I'm more open minded about trying other things now. The Aldi dupe was pretty good (and so was their pink clay mask dupefor another brand).

Kanga83 · 25/08/2019 21:36

I loved the old version and used it religiously for years until she sold out to Avon/boots (animal test, won't touch even as a parent company). Have discovered the Superdrug version is amazing and very similar and cruelty free.

Speakercube · 25/08/2019 21:36

I think it smells awful, made my skin break out and is overpriced.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 25/08/2019 21:45

They took out almond oil of the formula, completely changed the formula.

withlotsoflove · 25/08/2019 21:57

It’s so bad for your skin unfortunately.
Like battery acid.

M0reGinPlease · 25/08/2019 22:01

What's that claim based on?!

I like it but not as much as I like her toner- instant boost skin tonic. Lovely, lovely stuff.

withlotsoflove · 26/08/2019 04:20

M0re - essential oils are so bad for skin / products contains fragrances etc...
so many irritants.
Maybe not apparent straight away? But using this type of skincare can really age your skin!

Bluesheep8 · 26/08/2019 08:43

Love it. Used it for years and years. Also the instant boost tonic and eyebright lotion. Loyal fan here, I refuse to use anything else.
