I have dry, sensitive skin with mild rosacea. I want to buy a new foundation that is best for this type of skin. Can anyone recommend one they use please?

I have rosacea and the foundation that works best for me is the Bare Minerals powder.

Twenty years of trial and error. Estée Lauder Doublewear foundation gives perfect coverage

Spainintherain · 19/08/2019 22:50

I've used double wear! Sadly it dried my skin out and I found it not good for me.

Have you tried IT Cosmetics CC cream? I've just got some and find the coverage very good for my rosacea but it doesn't clog and irritate my skin like foundation. The business owner is a rosacea sufferer herself and you can find YouTube clips of her applying the product to her face and see how it covers her rosacea well.

I can't recommend a foundation but my rosacea has disappeared since being prescribed Soolantra. It's a cream I used for 8 weeksish last summer. Amazing stuff!

Spainintherain · 21/08/2019 22:06

I tried solantra and it didn't work :(

I can’t get on with Doublewear either.
I use IT Cosmetics CC cream, it’s great. The Matte one.

Star801 · 22/08/2019 10:04

Nars sheer glow

sanitygirl · 22/08/2019 16:46

Another recommendation for IT cosmetics cc cream - really great on my sensitive skin

Findmeausername · 22/08/2019 17:01

I find that Vichy derma blend provides great coverage to cover my redness

Spainintherain · 22/08/2019 21:14

For the IT cream how do you choose your shade? Is it stocked in a shop?

Boots have started stocking IT cosmetics.
They also have a base called bye bye redness which is great for flare up days.
I'm a double wear fan but most other things are IT. Been using it for years but had to stock up every time I went to the US.

Spainintherain · 22/08/2019 21:20

Is IT especially for sensitive skin?

I have acne/rosecea and currently on roaccutane which is making my skin exceptionally dry. Before it was exceptionally oily. I could melt double wear off in a couple of hours! 😲😝

The one thing I haven't changed is my foundation. I use Laura Mercier Mineral powder foundation. It's wonderful. Doesn't look heavy and is very natural depending on how you apply it. I now have to use a good moisturizer (a novelty for me) before applying but even with extremely dry skin it works beautifully.

Worth going to the counter and getting them to put it in you and see how it wears.

Good luck.

I have rosacea and the dermatologist I saw recommended Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. I've found it really good. Although I mostly just use my tinted sunscreen - Neostrata sheer physical protection to even out my skin tone and that generally does enough for me now that my rosacea is much improved (now just red rather than all pustuley).

Spainintherain · 22/08/2019 22:15

Thanks. Where do you get Laura mercier? I used the Armani til it ran out and can only get at Harvey Nichols in London - which is v hard for me at moment with a baby and toddler.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 22/08/2019 22:48

Can't you order the Armani on line if you like it?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 22/08/2019 22:51

Any of the Max Factor ones seem to help me. My rosacea has virtually disappeared though since I started washing my face with Aleppo Soap.

Spainintherain · 22/08/2019 22:56

I can't remember my shade of Armani!

I'm going to look up that soap!

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 23/08/2019 00:55

It's this soap Smile

Spainintherain · 23/08/2019 06:44

Thank you!

For the IT cream how do you choose your shade? Is it stocked in a shop?

They sell it on QVC (might be cheaper there) and you can see the shades. They also describe the shades.

FatTwat69 · 24/08/2019 15:34

I watched YouTube videos of other people using it and chose the one that looked like my skin tone the most.
As far as I can make out if you have yellow tones I would choose Fair, Light etc
And the pink toned ones are Fair Light, Light Medium etc.

Spainintherain · 24/08/2019 15:38

Thanks very much

I was going to suggest roaccutane too, it’s indicated for rosacea if it’s resistant. It’s worth asking to see dermatology.

I’ve just come off it and it’s amazing that my face can be the same colour as my neck skin.
