Could you show me what comfortably outfits you wear for long haul flights. I usually wear jeans and regret it. I'd feel wrong wearing joggers - too casual. I haven't worn leggings in years. I want the comfort of joggers but a little bit more like I've made an effort.

Watching with interest because I need some new ideas!

If I'm flying really long haul overnight I change into pjs and then have a second outfit for arrival. Although over the summer, really tired, left my original dress and knickers under the seat on the plane. Blush

homemadecommunistrussia · 16/08/2019 19:00

I go for palazzo trousers and a long sleeve t-shirt, but if that's too casual you could try a jersey dress?

Youngandfree · 16/08/2019 19:00

I usually wear some nice leggings (mint velvet are my fave) and a crew neck T-shirt (usually black) converse and a cream cashmere poncho cardigan to keep warm.

inevitablytired · 16/08/2019 19:09

I go for a jersey-type material dress and then put leggings on underneath when on the plane to avoid having to worry about flashing anyone!

HundredMilesAnHour · 16/08/2019 19:12

I tend to wear either a jersey dress with leather leggings (makes it easy going from hot to cold climates or vice versa as I just add or remove the leggings during my flight) or harem trousers with either a silk or jersey top. I always wear - or carry - a huge scarf (one side is silk, one side is cashmere) so I can add warmth with this as an extra layer or use it as a pillow/blanket. I usually have a statement necklace (Tessa Metcalfe is a favourite for this) and shoes that are easy/quick to slip on and off. I never wear trainers or flipflops to fly in.

WhoAteMyNuts · 16/08/2019 19:13

Jeggins and smart t-shirt.

lottieleo · 16/08/2019 20:30

Zara coord sets are my travel go to.
They have a few either jersey or fine knit wide leg trousers with matching tops or camis. Depending on where am I going il wear sandals or Nike's.

This sort of thing.

I second leather leggings, although in flights I tend to wear the Spanx faux leather ones which are bloody amazing, I've never found a comfier pair of trousers. I wear them with either a loose jumper or loose long sleeved shirt and pumps, depending in where I'm flying to, like this...

On! On, not in.

EatenByDinosaurs · 16/08/2019 21:28

To add, a bit like Hundred if I'm going to a very hot place I carry a dark jersey maxi skirt in my cabin bag so I can quickly change into that.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 16/08/2019 21:36

I travelled in jegginga (high waist, belly covering) vest and cotton shirt over. Was a bit cold on board tbh.

TakeMe2Insanity · 16/08/2019 21:50

I always end up on cold airplanes, so have a coatigan (for cold to hot) and a shawl. I try and wear loose trousers in jersey like palazzo pants but found bamboo yoga type teousers the comfiest as they are both warm and cool. Top tends to be a tshirt and then a long sleeves tshirt. Someth8ng that can be taken off when you arrive in the heat.

timeisnotaline · 16/08/2019 22:22

I’ve just bought cotton culottes with this in mind. The legs are so wide and baggy I can curl up in them, so hoping to move on from the maternity leggings travelling outfit!

666onmyhead · 16/08/2019 22:27

The white company cashmere pjs are my go to long haul travel wear.

RacheyCat · 17/08/2019 01:58

Without fail, I wear wide leg soft black linen trousers with a gentle elasticated waist, and a black linen t-shirt (the knitted kind of linen, rather than the woven kind). Then I bring along a blanket scarf/pashmina/long floaty coverup which fits easily into my hand luggage. Birkenstocks or adidas superstars on my feet.

Loose and comfy like pajamas, so easy to sleep in, and it doesn't show the inevitable spills and stains.

caranx · 17/08/2019 06:04

Jersey sleeveless maxi dress with a cardigan/wrap to throw on if cold on the plane.

timeisnotaline · 17/08/2019 07:55

@RacheyCat do you recommend any particular linen trousers ? Don’t knit linen trousers get very saggy?

Thisismynewname123 · 17/08/2019 10:10

@RacheyCat do you have any links to the kind of trousers you're talking about?

I would never wear linen when traveling as it creases WAY too much and you end up looking like an old paper bag at the other side Confused

Peridot1 · 17/08/2019 10:30

I wear black jersey harem style trousers and a loose black jersey long sleeved top for long haul. Comfy and warm enough. Usually have a cardigan in my bag and or a scarf.

I take a T-shirt if arriving into heat so I can change.

Footwear is usually Fitflops or Birkenstock’s. I hate wearing trainers or similar as I like to take my shoes off but won’t go barefoot to toilets etc obv and hate the faff of putting trainers back on. I suppose a comfy slip on shoe would work too.

SteamedPotatoes · 17/08/2019 10:44

Bumping, also need inspiration for a long haul..

Rhubarbandtomatoes · 17/08/2019 18:12

Boden Richmond or Gap stretchy cotton trousers, tee shirt, sweatshirt, trainers and flight socks.
Pack my smart handbag in the hold and take Longchamp bag with Pashmina on the plane.

FairyBunnyAgain · 17/08/2019 18:21

Layers, usually black yoga pants or Starfish from Lands End trousers, a vest a t-shirt and then either a cardigan or fleece depending on the season at either end. Always socks with me and slip on shoes so I can get up and go to the loo but sit barefoot.

I also second using a lonchamp bag and pasmina

Soontobe60 · 17/08/2019 18:25

I always travel long haul in decent quality leggings, vest, zip up baggy hoody and non underwired bra. I wear trainers if it's in a cold month, or birkenstocks if it's a warm month and carry socks in my handbag.
I also carry a small bar of nice soap, little tube of hand cream, face wipes to remove make up, tiny tub of moisturiser. Plus a clean vest! So make up off as soon as we take off, trainers into bag, socks on. Before we land I have a good wash, slap some make up on, change my vest and voila!

nooddsocksforme · 17/08/2019 18:28

I wore trousers a bit like this

Along with a sleeveless vest in case it was hot and a long cardi
