I've just started using Liz Earle due to recommendations on Mumsnet. Does anybody use anything other than Liz Earle that you would recommend?

I love Elemis

ZZMum · 04/08/2007 16:32

Eve Lom - accept no other!

streetwise · 04/08/2007 16:40

what about Estee Lauder - has anybody tried that?

I really like Ren Mayblossom and Cypress.

Doesn't dry my skin out or leave an oily film on it and is free of crap.

Smells nice too. And lasts a fair while.

I do love Eve Lom, but do get a bit peed off with all the muslin palaver, then either go to bed with makeup still on because I can't face it, or do it half-heartedly and go to bed all disappointed with myself.

God, I can beat myself up about anything.

paulaplumpbottom · 04/08/2007 16:49

Dermologica's special cleansing gel. It works wonders

ZZMum · 04/08/2007 16:55

where do you get dermalogica from -- I never see it in shops?

lilolilmanchester · 04/08/2007 17:17

I'm using liz earle now, but thinking of going back to Virgin Vie. I think I prefer liked their cleansers and toners. But love Liz Earle's Eye Bright.

Gobbledigook · 04/08/2007 17:19

I use the Estee Lauder foaming cleanser (in a pale blue tube - £17). Tis fabbo for my skin. I use the moisturiser after it (although atm am test running the Lancome moisturiser because I had to buy a skin care product as well as my mascara to get the free gift it's not as good as teh EL one)

Tamdin · 04/08/2007 17:20

second eve lom or if not suitable for your skin try la prairie foaming cleanser

Verso · 04/08/2007 19:24

Eve Lom is fab - I usually don't do 'posh' products because (a) I'm tight and (b) I have very sensitive skin, but it's brilliant.

paulaplumpbottom · 06/08/2007 15:11

You probably have to go to a salon to get it but chances are there is a salon near you that does

nomdeplume · 06/08/2007 15:14

You can buy dermalogica online. Ebay too

stressteddy · 06/08/2007 15:14

It's not an expensive one, but IMO the best cleanser is Neutrogena visibly clear. I think it quite literally knocks spots off the expensive cleansers which I had used for years before

hecciesmum · 06/08/2007 15:40

Tesco's cleansing balm by Skin wisdom....swear to god it is every bit as good as the Eve Lom...but costs 3 quid or something...Have been devoted user for 3 years now and saved myself a fortune.

mellow2 · 06/08/2007 21:57

I use Suki exfoliating lemongrass cleanser. It cleared up my post-natal eczema and is the only thing for my sensitive skin these days.

Desiderata · 06/08/2007 21:59

Cheap and cheerful ... honey. Spread it on your face before having a bath or shower and leave it on for about five minutes.

It rinses off really easily and leaves your face spanking clean and your pores nice and tight. I've never found anything to match it.

Totally agree meggle. No pain, no gain

mellow2 · 06/08/2007 22:24

I think it depends on whether you were spotty to begin with. I still have acne when I use the wrong products and

I had zits for weeks even after I stopped using EL.

EL is probably better for dry skin.

satine · 06/08/2007 22:26

Eve Lom is wonderful.

And it has never given me spots, but then I do have dry skin.
