What's a good hair oil?

My budget no longer stretches to Moroccan oil so I'm wondering what's a good cheap alternative?
I've seen Argan oil fir £1, is this any good??

Probably not. You could try it.

JustMe9 · 02/08/2019 20:14

Good hair oil is the one that has ZERO silicones in :)

SlinkyDogDash · 02/08/2019 20:17

I tried some but ended up back with moroccan oil...sorry. Sometimes it's on offer on Feel Unique, it seems to last ages.

withlotsoflove · 02/08/2019 21:52

Apparently the £1 one from Tesco is very good!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 02/08/2019 22:32

It's the lightness of Moroccan Oil that makes it so nice. The cheaper ones tend to be heavier and stickier. I find the Tesco £1 is fine, as is the Poundland Argon Oil, as long as you use them sparingly. There used to be a light formula Frizz Ease serum that was nice but I haven't looked for it for years.

natalia2104 · 02/08/2019 22:40

I love this one: www.percyandreed.com/shop/volume/percy-and-reed-smoothed-and-sensational-volumising-no-oil-oil-for-fine-hair
Really light and smells amazing!

Chochito · 02/08/2019 23:40

I like OGX coconut water spray, from Boots, Tesco and other shops (also online). There is an oil which is heavier.

It's cheaper than Moroccan Oil but I think in use they would work out the same as you use less M.O. which also comes in a larger bottle.

If anyone you know is going to Morocco, they can get you good Argan oil very cheaply and easily over there.

Chochito · 02/08/2019 23:41

Like unbranded Moroccan Oil.

GameofPhones · 02/08/2019 23:47

Almond oil - light, non-claggy, cheap to buy.

ZaraW · 03/08/2019 06:36

Camillia oil is great for dry hair. I wouldn't buy a hair oil with silicones.

moonpiggle · 03/08/2019 06:55

Wella Reflections oil. Apply when wet as its also a heat protector. Abs love it! Makes my hair shiny and soft.

moonpiggle · 03/08/2019 06:57

I know you have a budget...but this lasts a long time as you only need a drop or two. 100ml lasted me 10 months approx x

Phimma · 03/08/2019 07:42

Isn't Argan oil Moroccan oil? Argan is produced from the Moroccan Argan nut.

ZaraW · 03/08/2019 08:43

Moroccan Oil has very little Argan Oil and is mainly silicone. I'd rather spend my money on a 100% oil which is organic.

whitewineandchocolate · 03/08/2019 09:29

I have used The Liz Earle version and also the L’Oreal professional version and both are good.

EatenByDinosaurs · 03/08/2019 14:34

L'Oreal Extraordinary oil is fantastic is fairly cheap, plus its often on offer. Smells great too Smile.

Personally my hair loves silicones, and sulphates for that matter. I tried the CGM for 18 months and it just didn't work for me.

Ellapaella · 03/08/2019 14:55

You can buy pure Aegean oil from The Ordinary - just as good as Moroccan oil bit doesn't have the added fragrance.

Ellapaella · 03/08/2019 14:55

*argan oil

Greyhound22 · 03/08/2019 15:19

Someone recommended this on here not so long ago. Got some and it is fabulous.

Coconut oil! Rub it on, leave for a few hours while I do the housework then wash off with normal shampoo.

ZenNudist · 03/08/2019 15:41

Just bought camellia oil on the recommendation of this thread

ZenNudist · 03/08/2019 15:42

I always use the ogx argan oil one but I realise it's not very much Moroccan oil and very much chemicals. I also use at least a 5p piece size every time.

ZaraW · 03/08/2019 15:54

ZenNudist I use Camillia oil for skin care and eye make up remover as well as it works well for me. I use Fushi which is organic and around £15.

CrowleysBentley · 03/08/2019 17:23

I like squalane oil for my hair, it's nice and light but still moisturising and strengthening. The Ordinary one is really cheap, the oils are about the only product of theirs that I would bother buying again.

LynetteScavo · 03/08/2019 18:04

I use L'Oréal Extraordinary Oil....I find it as good, if not much better than Moroccan Oil. M
I'm happy to be told there is a much better oil out there.
