Sunglasses-do you choose cheap and replace often, or expensive?

I have always gone for a couple of pairs of cheaply Primark, New Look or DP sunglasses each summer and replace them when they get scratched but have been eyeing up the Raybans on TKMaxx which look lovely! I am unsure if it’ll be an expensive mistake though??

What do you do?

Most of my sunglasses are Ray-Bans polarised - 3 different colours of of Wayfarers, a cats eye style and some Clubmasters. I also have a pair of Tom Ford Miranda sunglasses I've had for a few years but usually only wear on holidays. Plus a few other pairs in my 'sunglasses drawer'. I wear them all year round, I love sunglasses!

I have loads of pairs around the £20 - £25 mark - mainly Oliver Bonas, also some from ASOS, and Zara. I tend to buy at least one pair each summer.

Expensive because I need prescription lenses and have a complicated prescription. I also have a small head and am restricted to any that fit.

Always bought cheap but last year fell in love with a pair of Maui Jim's and paid £300 for them😱 I felt physically sick when I left the shop, but I absolutely love them and wear them all the time. They are fabulous quality and I will keep them for years and years, so if more expensive makes you feel good and you can afford it go for it.

I always had Ray-bans, then had Burberry and D & G. Then went down the cheaper route (including some free from a magazine - gulp) and had loads of pairs, but treated myself to some Ray-Bans at the airport recently. OMG, I'd forgotten what a difference having a 'good' pair makes - I could tell the difference immediately.
