What’s your favourite Chanel perfume

On the back of the current thread re signature scents, I’m interested in people’s favourite Chanel fragrance. I have a bottle of Coco mademoiselle I wear on a night out but I’d like to try another of the Chanel perfume range.

No 5 by day and Coco at night. Started wearing it age 17 now mid 50s.

Coco used to be my signature sent. I think over time the formula changes and over recent years has been a lot more artificial smelling. Will still catch a whiff on someone and think “how lovely” but just smells different to it did 30 years ago.

Chance. Also like Gabrielle but have only ever had a spray of it in airports, never actually owned it. I always go to the airport sans perfume so I can have a spray of something I don’t own at the duty free Grin

Chance for daytime and Coco for evening. I also have Gabrielle, mainly because my DDs described it as 'smelling like mum'

Gardenia in the day, and Bois des Îles in the evening Have worn both for 20+ years.

Sadly, my current bottle of Gardenia will be the last as it's been reformulated and the scent disappears in less than 30 minutes.

Coco, for years has been my favourite perfume. The one that I always loved on and put on to give comfort in stressful situations. However, 30 years on and I've just not worn it as much in the last year. Not sure if sense of smell has changed. Hopefully will get over this and love it again soon!

Chance and Allure seem very popular. I think I need to spend some time at a Chanel counter to carefully choose one.

Chance and Allure are my go-to perfumes. No 5 takes me back to my first love, who bought me my first proper bottle of perfume 45 years ago. That's for special occasions. Actually, I think I still have that original bottle, though it's empty now of course, hidden away somewhere...

I love Chanel eau fraiche, wore it on honeymoon so have some nice memories attached to the scent. My current favourite is deauville, I used up a big sample bottle of this but have yet to buy a full size one
