Anyone had Botox for crows feet?

Dh has asked what I want for my birthday this week and I'm thinking Botox!
Always been a grow old gracefully supporter but lately I'm starting to feel Self conscious about my eyes. When I smile I have awful crows feet Sad
Hate needles though!

Do is really work? Should I go for it? Does it hurt? Are you glad you had it?

It does work. I find you have to go easy round the eyes and just have a small amount to reduce the wrinkles rather than eradicate. It looks unnatural to smile and have no wrinkles around the eyes.
I also found botox here caused me to scrunch my nose up though as it settled and wore off this improved.

So yes it works but start with a low dose and see if you need a top up. Plus go to a doctor or dentist and do your research/ get a recommendation.

Delatron · 17/07/2019 12:24

Oh and no it doesn’t hurt at all!

teenmum18 · 17/07/2019 12:43

Thank you!
I've book a consultation at a clinic not far from me. Read the reviews and it sounds positive. Both drs that have worked at Harley street.
I don't know anyone in real life that's had Botox so can't ask anyone for recommendations.

OMG it’s THE BEST. You won’t waste money on creams any more

matahairyy · 17/07/2019 16:05

Fuck growing old

teenmum18 · 17/07/2019 16:36

Have either of you had fillers there instead? I've read that fillers last longer than Botox.

I think it depends if your wrinkles are deep and there all the time. If they’re only when you move your face then Botox is ok

Delatron · 17/07/2019 18:50

I’m too scared of fillers!! But yes they do last longer....

namechangeninjaevervigilant · 17/07/2019 21:14

Yes. I have it there and in my forehead to lift my droopy eyelids. I have a very light dose so it doesn’t get rid of them entirely (I don’t want the wind tunnel look) but it gets rid of the smaller ones and softens the few deeper ones. It means my eyes don’t close up when I smile.

I am also scared of fillers. The doctor I see has recommended them for my marionette lines but I am scared of looking like an egg and TBH the marionette lines don’t bother me the way my droopy eyes did.

Delatron · 18/07/2019 07:14

I think these days they also don’t recommend filler in marionette lines, to lift that area they can fill temples? Still scary though.

teenmum18 · 18/07/2019 16:52

Thank you all. I have my consultation tomorrow 💉 feeling quite nervous!

@teenmum18 The best thing to do is say what you want to improve and the dr who does it (and you should only use a dr) decides what to do. They will know if filler or Botox or whatever will work best for you.

Please don't let a beautician loose on you!

I've had a touch of fillers in the past and went to a really big name who is well regarded. It's a complex procedure deciding what to be done to get the right look and you need an expert.

teenmum18 · 18/07/2019 20:17

@JinglingHellsBells thank you. And yes it's a doctor.

I’m getting 3 consultations for Botox. I’m particularly interested in the comment about droopy eyes from Namechange, can you tell me more, did it give you a bit of a lift, mine have dropped something awful and have considered surgery.

damnson · 18/07/2019 20:28

Had it probably every 6 months for past 7 years. It really works, i justify the cost with staying away from stupidly priced well marketed creams. If Botox stops my skin from creasing it's never gonna wrinkle. I love it

damnson · 18/07/2019 20:30

And doesn't hurt at all. Getting my brows waxed is 10x the pain. And yes it causes a little lift to brow x

Unburnished · 18/07/2019 20:48

Ive had it three times (doctor/doctor/nurse practitioner) and never would again.

Its fine if youre young (under 40) but any older and you risk fat and muscle atrophy. My eyes now look terrible (Im 50).

I also couldnt smile properly for at least four months.

People my age are moving more towards filler now.

damnson · 18/07/2019 20:53

Your still aging underneath the Botox @Unburnished muscle atrophy really? My mum must of been having Botox for near 20 years now and looks frickin brill, she won't go through with fillers as they change you and are risky. Botox does what it says on the tin, and very well

Unburnished · 18/07/2019 21:04

Dont get me wrong, i love botox and have it in my forehead. It just never looked good around my eyes. I think the percentage of people who suffer muscle and fat atrophy is relatively small.

Delatron · 18/07/2019 21:26

It’s interesting what you say about botox around the eyes Unburnished my worry is that by freezing the crows feet it causes the under eye are to wrinkle more and this looks
worse. Have seen this on older friends. I don’t know if this is the case if you just have a tiny bit and can wrinkle the corners?

Unburnished · 19/07/2019 07:20

Delatron, I had ‘sprinkles’ the last time precisely because of my previous outcome and because Zi only wanted a mild softening. It made no difference. I had terrible under eye wrinkles from it (none previously) and the muscles in the lower portion of my face took over. It was horrible.

CrumbsCrumbsEverywhere · 19/07/2019 07:22

Yes it works. It works amazingly if you get the right doctor. It hurts a tad, ask for local anaesthetic.

EdWinchester · 19/07/2019 07:26

Yes it works and no, it doesn’t hurt.

Delatron · 19/07/2019 08:06

Oh @Unburnished how frustrating. Tempted to leave my eyes next time. Forehead was ok though? Muscle atrophy and other muscles taking over are what worries me about long term botox!!

teenmum18 · 19/07/2019 15:57

Well I had it done today and it did hurt lol feels tender and bruised now. Thanks everyone.
