Cutting off all your long hair pixie short, if you have done it was it a good or bad decision?

For nearly 2 years I have been constantly saying that I would love to have my hair cut pixie short. Currently it is all one length below my shoulders, quite fine and poker straight. The sort of look I keep coming back to is the blonde crop that Michelle Williams had at the Oscars last year, I just love the shape and style. I just think that the look is so sassy and stylish and as I am small and petite I really feel the look will suit me. I was unsure about it being a bit limited in style but my hairdresser feels that I can wear it naturally flat generally during the day but jazz it up a bit with product for going out at night. She feels totally confidant that once I am used to it I will adore it but more importantly the look will suit me and my features.
Have any of you been through this dilemma, and if you did how have you felt after you went short?

DD did - and it is far less faff in the morning - but she doesn't have much of a natural curl and has very good bone structure.

Had a pixie early 20s. Grew out and now back to a pixie late 20s. Much more manageable for me. I like it.

I think I look better with a pixie cut when my face is fatter, its much more flattering on me than longer hair.
This is why I must stay fat 😊.
I've also stopped bleaching and have let it go grey ShockGrin

Every time I've ever grown my hair long I've always hated it and gone back to my pixie cut. It takes zero effort, but of styling product in the morning to add texture and I'm good to go. I LOVE it!

You're so young! Definitely do it, the young women at work who have short hair always look fab and edgy because it is so unusual for women of your generation.

I have gone backwards and forwards over the years but mainly had it short and but have it very short at the moment in my late 40s. I love it and find it very easy, I swim before work and it takes just a few seconds to blowdry it into shape. I don't use any product (although I did when I first got it cut but it knows what it's doing now) but my hair is reasonably thick and has enough texture to hold a shape well. Other cliches: I don't wear makeup to make me look more feminine. However, I pass that 5.5 cm test, plus I have a big mouth, round blue eyes and am a petite hourglass so do fill some of the cliches. I like how it balances my otherwise very feminine appearance.

Michelle Collins looks so much better with hers cropped, Judy Dench, Jamie Lee Curtis, Julie Andrews, Annie Lennox are all older women who look great with short hair. You are young but I don't think it's just a look for young women, in fact I think a sleek crop in much less aging than long dyed hair in bad condition.

I'm growing out .

When people say " It's hair it'll grow" calculate how long it will take . Probably a year . It'll be the Nightmare Twelve Months .

You have to go through the Cut it off , cut it OFF stage .
Grips, pins, hairbands . Product , blowdrying ,straightening.

The appeal of short hair , you wash, style it , good to go.

The real life - you need to have it cut every 5-6 weeks . It will go from Yeah, ok to Bloody hell hair in a week.

You can have fun with hairdye , it will get cropped out if you go wrong. And you don't get a load of overdye .

But unless you have very cute features you'll feel the need to wear earrings and make-up daily .

Mine is a bob now , all one length, no layers , no fringe .
Happy with that
