Ballet flats: grown up but not frumpy!

I want some ballet flats but not the dirt cheap new look type ones but equally not the Gabor granny level ones. Can spend around £100 on a good pair bit really struggle to find any that don't look really cheap but that aren't all built up and old fashioned. Anyone able to help me?

Marks and Spencer. You can get 4 pairs for that!! They're fab quality and last forever.

I don't get on with the Boden ones (too narrow!) how do the French sole ones come up?

French Sole or Repetto

TheFaerieQueene · 27/05/2019 13:28

Cocorose. I love mine.

gotmychocolateimgood · 27/05/2019 13:30

The marks and Spencer leather ones for £25 are great

PizzaForPusheen · 27/05/2019 13:35

Dune are pretty on.

SisterFarAway · 27/05/2019 19:31

I've got these from Clarks, very comfortable

SisterFarAway · 27/05/2019 19:32

Sorry, meant to add, not in this colour but in dark grey and burgundy, both pairs bought last year.

I have these in taupe. Comfy and go with everything!

I second the jutti flats. They are comfy and stylish.

darceybussell · 27/05/2019 20:32

Second Cocorose - I have the Clapham loafers that Pippa Middleton has been seen wearing and they're really nice and also really comfy.

dyouwantfrieswiththat · 27/05/2019 22:55

I've tried coco rose but have the elastics red ballerinas but fear they look a bit pigs trottery on me Blush

Blue Velvet shoes have a great selection.

JoJoSM2 · 28/05/2019 10:33

If you're going for a funkier style, then French sole or Blue Velvet are good. For super sturdy and nicely fitting ones, I'd go to Russell and Bromley.
If you're getting a a plain black pair, then I actually like to save and get a pair from Next for £28 (all leather, cushioned with nice detailing).
I also have a pair of Fit Flop ballet flats and don't think they look frumpy on me + have the advantage of a lot of cushioning. They are very wide, though.

barberousbarbara · 28/05/2019 10:38

I have the Toms Jutti flats in taupe too and they are really comfortable. The suede is buttery soft.

DoLittleDoLoads · 28/05/2019 10:44

Second french sole - but get a pair with a decent base. I spent ages looking for ballet pumps, didn't want to buy FS as they were so expensive but I've now had them for over two years so they were def worth the cost (but I only wear them in the office, not sure they last that well if you wear them outside all the time).

Kedgeree · 28/05/2019 11:10

What's the sizing like on Cocorose? I'm a 4 or 4.5, would I need the 37 or the 38 from them? Thanks.

Moondancer73 · 28/05/2019 11:13

Have to say I agree that fitflops are frumpy, I wouldn't wear them. Never get the appeal and they're not ballet pumps surely - they're flip flops?

Moondancer73 · 28/05/2019 11:16

Have just looked actually and see that they do ballerina pumps but £75!!!!! No way I'd pay that

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 28/05/2019 11:20

Butterfly Twists! They come in so many shapes and patterns and they are incredibly comfy. They have been a revelation to me!
