Who uses the bodyshop?

Does anyone use their products?

I’ve been looking at their facial creams for night use, particular interested in the Vitamin E night serum, the Vitamin E night cream or the Aloe night cream. Does anyone recommend any of these?

I suffered with bad skin in my early twenties which has cleared up now, I still get the odd spot & have a few under the skin bumps/spots on my cheeks, blackheads on my chin, pores are quite large in places so I just want something gentle for my skin which isn’t going to react & cause me to breakout. I should also add that I don’t have overly oily skin, I might get a bit oily on my forehead throughout the day but not massively.

Hope someone can help! Thanks

I don't like their facecreams, they feel like they sit on the surface of my skin.
I do love their shea butter sugar and salt body scrub. It actually makes my skin soft enough to no need moisturiser, which is unheard of.
Their chamomile range is lovely as well, esp their cleansing butter and the oil cleanser.

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 26/05/2019 22:33

I'd not recommend any except chamomile butter balm but prob not best for your skin tbh.

If you want natural look at sukin.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 26/05/2019 22:37

I've used Vitamin E cream for decades (Intense now I'm old). The only better moisturiser I've ever used is Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, which is £££. I've got dry skin though, might be too rich for anyone oily.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 26/05/2019 23:17

Only use their hemp hand cream.

EmpressJewel · 26/05/2019 23:18

I have used the vitamin e and aloe ranges, but they didn't suit my skin. Now, the camomile cleansing oil is the only product I use.

I rate the products, despite them not being suitable for me. I think they are good value (there is always an offer on) and there are lots of products to choose from, depending on your skin.

BrainScience · 26/05/2019 23:19

I buy the moringa soap from Bodyshop aaa it smells wonderful. Really disappointed they still use palm oil though so when I’ve run out this time I’ll buy some from elsewhere. I haven’t got anything else from there in years. Such a shame as they used to be amazing.

Tinks15 · 27/05/2019 07:25

Doesn’t sound like their products suit many people. Confused
Has anyone got any recommendations for similar brands the same sort of price range? I always usually like to try a sample before I commit to buying.

I love superdrug's vit e range, it's super cheap too

BikeRunSki · 27/05/2019 07:54

I used to use them all the time, for everything. I liked their ethics as well as their products, but both were diluted when they were bought by L’Oréal. I want given some banana shampoo for Christmas - it’s nothing like what I used to use in the 80s and 90s.

princessbear80 · 27/05/2019 08:53

Someone mentioned it upthread. I’ve started using Sukin face creams, they’re great. Will try the cream cleanser too when my current one runs out.

BlueMerchant · 27/05/2019 08:55

Agree Superdrug vitamin E

scaredofthecity · 27/05/2019 08:57

Superdrug have really stepped up their skincare ranges. I really like the naturally radiant bits, the b. range has some gems too.
Very affordable too which is a bonus!

I like the Aloe range, it's perfect for my sensitive skin, especially the products with the live cultures in them, I also like the Camille cleansing oil but didn't get on with the Camille cleansing butter as I found it striped my skin of natural oils and caused eczema.

Mixingitall · 27/05/2019 09:34

Try it, I think it will suit your skin. I started using body shop tea tree facial products at 20 to clear up my spots, then moving on to vitamin e in my early 30’s. Try using the tea tree face wash and moisturiser for day time and the vitamin e night cream. I have skin very similar to yours, in that if I use the wrong moisturiser or foundation my face can get very oily in the day, and I am still prone to spots. The best foundation I have found for day time is Aveda hydrating lotion, it isn’t heavy enough for night time though.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/05/2019 10:17

I've used the Vit E cream , but only the regular one suits my skin.
The intense one is way too thick and greasy The Sorbet one smells lovely but it felt a bit grainy and never rubbed it , in fact it pilled on my skin.

My DD loves the Himalayan charcole mask (smells devine ) and the Honey one for winter .

I re-purchase:
Camomile balm , Camomile eye make-up remover liquid (DD) , Ginger shampoo + conditioner (I like both , DH and DS use the shampoo)
Absinthe handwash (I use as a showergel, it smells really fresh , like cologne)

For moisturiser , I use Superdrug Optimum (often on BOGOF) I like the pump action tube , no air contamination.

EvaHarknessRose · 27/05/2019 10:33

The vitamin e comes in a few different ones. I like the feel of it very much but told the assistant it gives me a small dry patch of skin between my eyebrows, funnily enough she said it does the same for her.

I got the vit c one instead, its ok. I like their green tea shampoo and conditioner and the elderflower eye cream and the hemp handcream (not the rest of the range).

BusterGonad · 27/05/2019 11:03

I'm going to purchase the elderflower eye gel, not as my main eye treatment but for when my eyes get all itchy. They have a tendency to dry out, I mean the skin and the lash line and the elderflower is so soothing and cooling.

Satsunday · 27/05/2019 12:39

I love the Bodyshop face creams!! The roots of strength range is amazing and I actually notice when I don't use it. I use the serum in the day and Oils of Life with Roots of strength cream on top at night (it's for day or night but I just use it at night). Seriously the best creams I have used (I do think they work on fine lines but you may not need this).

I have never used Body shop Cream but Holland and Barret are now stocking vitamin E cream at a reasonable price.
I have used many brands from Epionce to Environ which are costly. I always go back to Avon repair wear serum and day and night creams. Gentle on skin and help repair damage to skin but non irritating. Maybe have a look at Avon creams or in Holland and Barrett. They have also bought out a hemp cream which I am fascinated about and may try. Remember serums penetrate deeper into the dermis/epidermis and help promote collagen. Maybe try a biotin oral suppliment and a collagen oral suppliment. Boots stock plenty of variety. Also, to help with the tiny bumps try a few microdermabrasion sessions to help remove dead layers of skin and reduced bumps in skin. Have a good day x

MeganRose2014 · 27/05/2019 13:23

I forgot to mention Argan oil is excellent as a serum under cream. It is an amazing all round oil. Rich in vitamins. Xx

Miniloso · 27/05/2019 13:27

The factor 50 skin defense is fab. Don’t like anything else from there though, it’s way too pricey for the quality.

Craftycorvid · 27/05/2019 13:30

Haven’t used Body Shop in years. After they sold (out) to L’oreal they were never the same again. Whenever I stray over the threshold of one of their shops I feel I may as well be in a branch of Boots. I will still admit to loving the scent of their grapefruit shower gel, but that’s it. Lush divides people but they seem to have picked up where Body Shop left off (and anyone who remembers Body Shop Orchid Oil cleansing milk should know Lush’s 9-5 is the same thing - I was chuffed about that as it’s fab’ for sensitive skin). No, I dob’t work for Lush Grin

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 27/05/2019 20:08

Avene might be worth a look? A independent beauty blogger I know recommends Superdrug naturally radiant range.
