i know i am being very nosey, but i am getting married in october and the dress i want to get isnt a 'traditional' colour.

it wouldnt bother me,but for the fact im a bit superstitious and know that its meant to be unlucky to get married in certain colours

so what colour did you marry in,and do you feel it had an impact on the-erm-'outcome' of the marriage?

Burgundy velvet here too. Wedding was in a cosy hotel, no bridesmaids.

FlameDelacour · 20/07/2007 09:01

Thanks

White dress with dark red shawl

Bridesmaid was dark red dress and shawl

Tiny tots were in cream and gold.

I wore blush pink - it was really subtle and hardly noticable - in fact there maybe a photo on my profile...

thank you all-lovely pictures!

i always used to say, when i was a teenager and into heavy metal, and wore DM's and leather jackets, that i would never get married in a fluffy girly dress.

when i got married the first time though,i wore a black top and burgandy skirt(i was 14 weeks pg and nothing looked right),and i did wish myself back.it lasted 10 months.

however,i could have worn a pure snow-white traditional wedding dress and it wouldnt have changed the fact i was marrying the wrong person, just because i was pregnant.i think the fact that i couldnt find anything i liked, and settled for something that was ok-ish says it all really.

i will go for the dress that made me go 'WOW!' when i saw it,just like i did the first time i saw dp

I got married in amonsoon skirt and top with a bolero jacket.
It was all cream and the top had lots of sequins on it to make it a bit sparkly. I tried on loads of dresses but they emphasized my pear shape so separates were the way to go for me.

That was what I did diva - I had very set ideas of what I would wear. I got to the shop, and the woman pulled out a dress and pleaded with me to try it (she was getting to the bribery stage!).

It looked perfect, my mum cried... we bought.

sleepfinder · 20/07/2007 15:47

I wore blue. I think it has had no bearing on my marriage other than the fact my husband liked what I wore...?

Deep red, long empire-line silk dress with train. I had a tiara which was silver and red, red silk organza throw and a red pendant. I thought it was a great colour for a winter wedding - we got hitched on 1 October - and dh's kilt had red in it too...

lizziemun · 20/07/2007 16:14

Ivory dress with claret coloured embroidery.

Been married for 6 years.

Also as soon as my grandparents went home between 8 - 9 pm both me and dh changed into our jeans, But i kept my hair all done up complete with tirra (sp)

I wore a pretty classic dress, strapless, bigish skirt in ivory. Not what I had in mind at all, but I tried it on and it was just THE ONE - even made my mum cry, and she isn't sentimental like that.

me and my dad - he sadly passed away 6 months after this

My fave wedding picture

Hulababy · 20/07/2007 20:56

I wore an ivory wedding dress, long, and quite traditional. Still happily married.

Cammelia · 20/07/2007 20:58

First time, purple dress, pale coat

Second time, lilac dress, white floaty coat
