Bras for bigger breasts (32F) & sports bra

AliceRR · 27/04/2019 14:27

I’m now apparently a 32F following having my first child in February

Maybe they’ll shrink a bit more (I was a 32DD before) but I need bras to fit. I got a nice one form Debenhams. Couldn’t find anything nice in M&S.

Any recommendations for nice bras that support a larger breast? I seem to like the balcony / full cup (non padded) style after they were recommended by the lady in Debenhams (I used to go for padded t shirt style)

Also decent sports bra for bigger boobs. I couldn’t the shock absorber ones in my size on!

Thanks

Also hotmilk if you are breastfeeding

Thanks. I’m not. My baby girl was stillborn.

Maybe should have mentioned that but wasn’t sure if relevant but I did go to full term and my body shows it to some degree and boobs are big hence needing bras 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wear the Playtex flower lace bra. I'm a 34FF. It is very comfy, not the best looking bra but I care more about the fit and support than the look. I usually buy them online eBay etc as if you're lucky you can get them for almost half the cost of shops.

BusterGonad · 29/04/2019 14:35

Oh, just caught up with the thread. I'm sorry for your loss.

Hadalifeonce · 29/04/2019 14:37

There is an online company called Medasun which does sports bras for the bigger bust, not the cheapest but good quality.

Merename · 29/04/2019 15:13

Oh also so very sorry to hear that, @AliceRR. Wish I had comforting words for you. I hope you have lots of lovely people and support around you Flowers

I am so so sorry for your loss. I hope you have lots of support around you xxx

as far as bras go there is nothing that can compare to Prima Donna. This is the most comfortable bra i own and with proper care it has lasted years. (Pay cheap pay twice!) They are well made and don't dig or hurt and properly lift your breasts giving a better look in clothes. i don't work for them btw.

the madison full cup balcony is brilliant as well.

shop around for the best price.

Best of luck to you in your healing journey. Flowers

I am so very sorry for your loss.
I recently discovered Attollo Lingerie for ladies with small backs and bigger cups sizes. Their bras are lovely. Best wishes. Flowers

MIdgebabe · 29/04/2019 16:11

I like molke, extremely comfortable, and if you size is variable, they are forgiving which may mean you get more life out of them

I bought a bravissimo sports bra recently in a 32FF and it’s the best sports bra I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried a lot over the years including shock absorber which I didn’t like). I can’t recommend it enough.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 29/04/2019 18:26

So sorry for your loss OP.

I mentioned Bravissimo earlier - I'd definitely go there to get sized before you start shelling out, my bra size changed drastically when I went there (small back, big boobs). I'd been wearing the wrong size for years. They hold a lot of the brands that have been mentioned here so you can try quite a few different makes on. They tend to be very good at help identifying what styles/shapes fit you best too. I get sports bras from there too.

florence11 · 29/04/2019 21:06

@AliceRR thinking about it, my shock absorber is a 34DD. I am actually a 30DD, but definitely need a 34 in the back! I bought it when I was wearing the wrong sized bras. I was a 30E/F until six months ago when I lost some weight. Now I probably need a 34D or C in the shock absorber.

stucknoue · 29/04/2019 21:10

So sorry to hear that your baby was stillborn. But another bravissimo fan here but my running bra is M&S ultra high impact, was £32 I think

MadAboutWands · 29/04/2019 21:12

Bravissimo too and Leila (esp their sale area!!).

FlowersFlowers for you and your baby girl.

AliceRR · 30/04/2019 17:24

Thanks all

I will look into all of these xx

Another vote for Brastop website when you know your size

funkythighcollector · 30/04/2019 22:02

Panache for sports. Fantasie for everyday. I’ve found the Freya band sizing a bit big in the ones I’ve tried

JustBeenNosey · 14/05/2019 12:18

Did you end up getting one? I need to invest in something like the shock absorber sports bra because I've tried the primark ones and I still end up hitting myself in the face with my tits when I'm at the gym

ChoudeBruxelles · 14/05/2019 12:21

bravissimo!

BikeRunSki · 14/05/2019 12:29

Love Panache bras for every day, but hated their sports bras. I love Shock Absorber sports bras, but go up in back and down in cup.

feistymumma · 14/05/2019 12:34

Berlei

ArchieHarrison · 14/05/2019 12:44

big love to you x

You probably will go back down to previous size, and maybe then some so perhaps don't invest too heavily right now.
If you want something to make you feel good / swimwear, Miss Mandalay are good (in the sale!) as are huit.
I like M&S wired high impact for running / horse riding.

randomsabreuse · 14/05/2019 12:48

Shock Absorber are great. The Multisport on with the 2 lots of hooks at the back goes to HH. Probably need to go up one back size, can get away with 2 if needed for cup. Wouldn't necessarily go down a cup to go up 1 back size.

I was a 28K bottom heavy and wore 32HH shock absorber for a 2hr 30 Half Marathon plus training with no problem.

Alternatively I recently tried a boobuddy in desperation as bursting out of shock absorber, can't go up another back size and no bigger cups. It works way better than I expected, is relatively comfortable and I can run happily in it. Way better than previous multiple bras plus compression top arrangements coming into summer! Much easier to escape for post exercise comfort too!
