Ok so in reality she could just wear it anyway
https://www.prelondon.com/collections/sweatshirts/products/grey-sweatshirt

but could anybody link to similar thats for girls?

She is 19 (and has Aspergers) so want to get her something that doesn't bring her hassle.

Why does it matter that it's for men? Who is going to give her hassle?

I wear men's sweatshirts often. No-one has ever given me any hassle - although people have admired my sweatshirts.

Fruityfruitcake · 23/04/2019 19:46

If I saw that on a woman I wouldn't assume she was wearing a man's sweater.

Fatted · 23/04/2019 19:47

God, just let her wear it.

I wore lots of blokes stuff as a teen.

JoyceDivision · 23/04/2019 19:47

Looks fine I wouldn't think it was a man's sweater

QueenofCBA · 23/04/2019 19:48

It’s fine for her to wear that one!

Ffsnosexallowed · 23/04/2019 19:49

Why would it bring her hassle? Just get it.

Graphista · 23/04/2019 19:50

I've been wearing "men's" jeans t-shirts and sweaters for decades! The proportions fit me better (short height but relatively long arms and legs)

Absolutely no good reason why she can't wear this none!

VanillaCoconutDove · 23/04/2019 19:50

Its a pretty unisex garment.

And even if it wasn’t, meh.

She could probably get the same idea cheaper though.

Echobelly · 23/04/2019 19:50

Just buy the smallest size of that surely?

ElloBrian · 23/04/2019 19:50

Who cares? I wear loads of men’s stuff.

PreseaCombatir · 23/04/2019 19:51

It looks fine, it’s just a jumper.
I prefer men’s hoodies and jumpers, they’re much more snug, and are always longer!

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/04/2019 19:52

I wear men's stuff (only stuff belonging to DH, not random blokes stuff). I even prefer some men's toiletries.

TheGrey1houndSpeaks · 23/04/2019 19:53

What sort of hassle would that attract? Confused. I wear DH’s stuff all the time, never had anyone so much as look crooked at me.

RezCowgirl · 23/04/2019 19:54

All of my jumpers and sweatshirts are 'for men'.

PhoenixBuchanan · 23/04/2019 19:54

Do you think it's going to give her hassle because of sizing? As in even the smallest one will be too big? That's the only thing I can think of that could possibly bring hassle Confused

LittleLongDog · 23/04/2019 19:54

It’s literally a jumper. I can’t see that it will bring her any hassle.

troppibambini · 23/04/2019 20:50

What?Confused
It's a grey sweatshirt just buy it.

Nameusernameuser · 23/04/2019 20:54

I'm 21 and buy mens stuff all the time. Just be conscious if she's got boobs because they stretch like buggery. It's fine.

Moominfan · 23/04/2019 20:55

It's just clothes

Fairylea · 23/04/2019 20:56

My dd aged 16 wears all my dhs cast offs- he’s very into fashion and most of his stuff comes from h and m men’s or ASOS men’s. Very normal for teens to wear stuff from men’s (or women’s) departments!

enjoyingscience · 23/04/2019 20:57

Men’s jumpers are loads better. Arms are long enough, for a start.

Just get her that one.

Whattodofgs · 23/04/2019 21:11

It was more that as she is at college she might meet a bloke with the same sweatshirt.

It doesn't really matter that it's for men except that she is recovering from really bad bullying in high school and I don't want anything to upset her progress.

I am probably massively overthinking this!!

OP posts:
CountFosco · 23/04/2019 21:46

You probably are over thinking it but I understand that with her history you are more concerned. My 11 year old wears 'boys clothes' all the time, but she is not on the spectrum and has had no trouble from other kids (but has from adults Hmm). But she's much younger.

I think most people would not register at all that a 19 year old was wearing a man's sweatshirt and if they did they'd not think anything of it. I wore men's cardigans from M&S through all of Uni (many years ago).

Expressedways · 24/04/2019 00:17

I’m wearing a men’s Uniqlo Breton stripe jumper today in a size XS. Had 2 compliments at work and no comments that I’ve committed some sort of cardinal fashion sin. Just let her have the jumper, you’re way over thinking it (although I see why given the bullying at school).

Loubyloulou88 · 24/04/2019 01:20

I've adopted a couple of my husband's sweatshirts that he doesn't fit in anymore and you'd never know they'd come from the men's dept! And god they're comfy. Let her go for it!
