Nose to mouth line fillers

Thisimmortalcurl · 01/04/2019 22:32

I could do with any advice and info from folk who have had this done.
I have booked myself in to get my nose to mouth lines filled in May.
I hugely trust my practitioner who had done my Botox for years and has won many awards in her field but I know my husband would go loop the loop if I told him I was getting this done.
My research so far is .. eat pineapple, take Arnica tablets for a week , no alcohol 48 hours before and ice plus use arnica cream afterwards .
I will not see him for about 48 hours after it’s done but I have the fear I will look like I have been beaten up or look totally different .
I know I want it done .. I have been thinking about it for two years and one side off my face looks almost scarred as the line is so deep .
Looking for any more advice / positive stories of having this done .
My place numbs you before hand , I find Botox a breeze , I have had extensive tattoos and 3 kids without pain relief but I’m actually quite scared about the pain .

I was a little sweaty Grin

HuckfromScandal · 26/04/2019 09:05

Morning.

Mine was done a week ago.
No one has noticed. But i love the effect.
I think I look so much better. Younger and fresher.

I am delighted.

HuckfromScandal · 26/04/2019 09:05

And it wasn’t sore. Less sore than a wax.

Thisimmortalcurl · 27/04/2019 07:19

Wow Huck ! Glad you are pleased . Did they freeze you ? Which method was used ? Any bruising ?
I have bought both arnica tablets and cooling cream .

A tiny touch of bruising, but only noticeable to me really. Needed a lot more filler in one check than the other, but as someone said upthread, it has made my eyes look lighter!

They did freeze me, but just topical cream.

Just looking in the mirror, Yeo, delighted. T Hank goodness, it was £450!

Thisimmortalcurl · 27/04/2019 23:50

Did you have the cannula one ? Although I like and trust my lady I’m not sure it’s going to be this type. I really hope I have the same results a you

Sorry @thisimmortalcurl
I haven’t really been on Mumsnet

Cannula into the lines
And syringe into the cheeks
Have to say
I am delighted
I can’t say I look in the mirror and notice it, but I do look in the mirror and don’t think I look nearly as old!!

Thisimmortalcurl · 10/05/2019 18:58

Thanks for replying @ Huckfromscandal
I’m getting mine done this week coming , still nervous but your post is reassuring.
I’m taking arnica tabs every day , have bought the arnica cream and ordered some instant ice packs .

You’ll be great.

I didNot take arnica at all.
I did take uboprofen 2 hours before.

Let me know how you get on.

Ilovetolurk · 11/05/2019 18:43

Donot take ibuprofen

It is a blood thinner and will encourage bruising

Unburnished · 11/05/2019 18:51

I had mid-face filler recently to treat these lines. Injecting into the lines themselves results in a simian appearance. It’s far better to inject into the mid face to ‘lift’ the cheek, as its the lack of volume in the cheek that causes the nose to mouth line. I’d postpone it and find someone else who understands more modern techniques.

HuckfromScandal · 12/05/2019 17:02

@unburnished
My dr has loads of experience and has just won a prize in Scotland.
She says that using a combination of techniques dependant on the client is the best way to approach.

I researched this thoroughly before having it done,
Although I always take ibuprofen, the comment re blood thinning is probably correct. I however only had a very tiny amount of bruising.

Thisimmortalcurl · 14/05/2019 12:18

Had it done this morning , she put topical numbing cream on and it was not sore at all . On the same scale as Botox . The area is a wee bit red but she said she doesn’t think i will bruise.
I ended up only needing one syringe so it cost £350.
I was hugely anxious but bloody hell im so pleased so far . Ecstatic actually .
Thanks very much to every one who posted with advice and experiences
@ HuckfromScandal .. it would be funny if we had seen the same person , mine is also in Scotland and has won a lot of awards .

I've had it done twice. Both times with numbing cream. First time without cannula econdtime with. Both times with juvederm.i have had quite a few rounds of botox including underarms for sweating(all without numbing) i dont even flinch fir this. First filler was so agonising i couldnt contain myself i literally was crying. Said I'd never have it again. After having a baby I looked awful and went to see a different doctor with an amazing reputation who said in the majority if people filling the crease alone isn't sufficient, to get a fresher look cheeks normally need some pumping so I agreed to this. Apparently mist people find this unpleasant, it was fine. Made a huge difference. I went back to have the crease filled with a cannula. Despite loads of topical anaesthesia i did find it really painful, although much less bad than with the needle only, the worst bit is nearest to the nose. I had no swelling and no bruising. I would say that I generally don't find anything much painful- except this- it is quick though thankfully, it made such a difference I will repeat it but take paracetamol before. I do thinkthe amount of bruising depends of the injector, I've foundries with botox over the years, some people tend to bruise you, some never do.
Good luck, even if it burst, it's over fast and you look really fresh after, regarding your husband noticing, no one noticed I'd had something done, even my mother, they just keep saying how well I looked and did I have new make up!you'll feel great.

MrMeSeeks · 14/05/2019 23:04

Omg what a difference! I’ve been wondering about the little lines around my mouth and chin ( admitted they aren’t very big but they annoy me every time i look in the mirror).
Im just worried incase it goes wrong!
