Desperately need advice, waxing disaster

Livinginhell123 · 30/03/2019 19:57

I really need some advice, I had my face waxed yesterday (had this done numerous times and always been great) and I have what I can only describe as a burn. There is now a layer forming but it is horrendously tight, could I put moisturising cream on? If yes, what kind? If no, what can I put on? Already applying aloe Vera gel by the bucket loads to stop the burning.

Oh bloody hell that looks so sore!
Do you have any sudocrem? Have you complained? You poor thing!

Happycow · 30/03/2019 20:04

Bepanthen! Did something similar to myself with Nair, bepanthen kept it nice and soft.

Livinginhell123 · 30/03/2019 20:06

I don’t have any sudocrem. Went back to the salon today and was given a tube of aloe Vera gel. Was told it will be fine in 4-8 weeks and cover with foundation (explained to the salon manager that I’m embarrassed to go out looking like this) but I don’t want to put more chemicals, from cosmetics, on it.

Happycow did the scars fade, I’m so scared of having a lasting dark scar.

Fine in 4-8?! I hope they apologised profusely and showered you with refunds and vouchers.

Second bepanthen, I hope it heals quickly op

Babygrey7 · 30/03/2019 20:10

That looks really sore, looks like they cocked up.somehow! Wax too hot?

Best to do very little to it, just aloe gel and/or dexpanthenol cream.(such as bepanthen)

HundredMilesAnHour · 30/03/2019 20:10

This might help a little OP. It looks sore, you poor thing.

mommybear1 · 30/03/2019 20:10

Oh @Livinginhell123 I'm so sorry this looks painful. I had a similar burn in a less obvious place Blush but have also had a lip wax burn I used Avene skin recovery cream - amazing I'll send a link the aloe will help pop it in the fridge for extra cooling. I'd stay away from putting make up on for as long as you can and also (if applicable where you are) stay out of the sun. www.boots.com/avene-skin-recovery-cream-50ml-10193382

donajimena · 30/03/2019 20:12

Ibuprofen is your friend. Those wounds look like they would heal well (I'm no medic but had similar small patch on my tash)

Livinginhell123 · 30/03/2019 20:14

RevealTheHiddenBeach definitely apologised profusely but no refund, got one free treatment 😫. The way I feel I don’t think I want to ever have another treatment done Sad

I have out of date sudocrem 🤦‍♀️ I can’t get out until tomorrow morning but need something to ease the dry, tight feeling so I can at least open my mouth wide enough to eat without feeling like my skin is tearing

OP posts:
f83mx · 30/03/2019 20:16

I had similar but smaller area, healed in a week. I used sudo cream and covered with make up after day 2 x

anniehm · 30/03/2019 20:18

Use the sudocreme, mines 4 years out of date!

Livinginhell123 · 30/03/2019 20:21

Thank you anniehm I don’t think anything can make this any worse to be honest. Sudocrem it is until tomorrow morning

Palominoo · 30/03/2019 20:24

You shouldn't have accepted the free treatment.

You have been visibly burnt and given that you've had the treatment before with no problems it gives weight to it being badly done this time.

I would buy vichy dermablend and a concealer brush and gently paint over the areas of you feel you cannot go out without some kind of coverage.

It is important at all.other times to let the areas be clean and the air get to them.

I would want the salon to cover the cost of additional camouflage make up.

Mumof1andacat · 30/03/2019 20:30

This happened to me with an eyebrow wax once. The salon burnt me. I went again and the same happened again so switched to threading which I think can be done on the lip and chin too. I know won't help now but it's happened once so it could happen again. The skin will be sensitive for a while. Threading is more gentle

Livinginhell123 · 30/03/2019 20:43

Just rang DH to ask where the sudocrem has disappeared to and he’s just informed me that he threw it out 2 weeks ago because it was out of date 😫. I want to cry

moreismore · 30/03/2019 20:48

Tbh the aloe is probably the best thing. Part of the tight feeling might be where the aloe dries and leaves a layer on your skin? Do you have any savlon or anything like that?

Veterinari · 30/03/2019 20:55

Aloe and aqueous cream or zinc oxide cream

Def threading next time, and complain properly

Haypanky · 30/03/2019 21:00

Don't use sudocrem, the white colour will get in all the cracks and you'll end up regretting it tomorrow morning when you need to scrub it away. Use the aloe vera or a burn gel if you can get hold of it. When it's healed, use a silicone scar gel twice a day. Make sure you use high spf on it too as apparently sun will make it darker. I got a gel that has spf in it and am hoping I might be seeing an improvement (Got scalded on the face not long ago and it's scarred). Fingers crossed it will heal up OK for you!

Haypanky · 30/03/2019 21:02

I saw minor injuries about mine 2 days after the event and she said not to put anything at all on it actually. Aloe or burn gel is when you first do it. Then leave alone until healed. Then silicone gel.

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 30/03/2019 21:11

Oh you poor thing. Would’ve also said Sudocrem or Bepanthen. Hopefully it’ll calm down v soon for you

looondonn · 30/03/2019 21:29

I am so sorry

Do something about this salon !!

They should be way more helpful and apologetic:(

DocusDiplo · 30/03/2019 21:35

They used wax too hot for you I think. Happened to me but not that much or badly. I would be extremely cross with them. Honestly. Incompetent!!!

Just let it heal itself - let it be. Brazen it out or say you fell. Its will be fine in a couple of weeks. Sorry you have to go through this FlowersFlowersFlowers

Livinginhell123 · 30/03/2019 21:39

DH has just cut his evening out short to go to Sainsbury’s to get me some Bepanthen. I’m in so much pain and not been able to eat. I’ll apply that and take a few painkillers and sit in front of the fan. So much for a relaxing Mother’s Day! Thank you all for the advice and sympathy 🥰
