What is the best hair removal approach?

I've not needed to before as the hair is very fair, but there's more and more of it as I get older so I would like to do something about it now. But as it is my face I am very wary.

I shave my legs which I am sure is not suitable, but have never really experimented with other methods. Is waxing the way to go?

Finishing touch flawless... fantastic for not leaving a stubble fealing

FizzyGreenWater · 12/03/2019 16:47

try an epiwand!

circeplease · 12/03/2019 17:05

Threading

anniehm · 12/03/2019 17:06

Waxing lasts 4-6 weeks, cost £4 yesterday

Beamur · 12/03/2019 17:07

I get mine waxed every couple of months or so. Bit ouchy.

EmpressJewel · 12/03/2019 17:47

Laser hair removal. Check groupon for deals.

Two2tango · 12/03/2019 21:25

Thank you! Lots of options!

Now I think about it I have had my eyebrows threaded a few times, so painful though!!

I just buy those facial wax strips...very quick and easy. It doesn't hurt much.

Redcrayons · 12/03/2019 21:32

Epi stick off eBay.

One of the best things I’ve ever bought.

Farmerswifey12 · 12/03/2019 21:33

I pluck it when I'm doing my eyebrows!

freakydeaky · 12/03/2019 21:34

Another vote for finishing touch flawless. I got mine in Wilkinsons, was really quite apprehensive about using it because of the potential for stubble or razor burn but neither of those have been an issue at all. I'd highly recommend it, well worth £20!

DrQuinnMedicineWoman · 12/03/2019 21:47

I tried the finishing touch flawless today and am really impressed. I have awful dark upper lip and chin hair. I have waxed for years but my skin reacts really badly to any wax now. Tried the flawless stick and it was great - smooth hair free skin that wasn't red or stubbly.

mrslebon · 12/03/2019 22:46

Threading. Yeah, it's a bit painful but the in the scheme of things, not really and the pain only lasts a very short time. Great results though!

Ellapaella · 16/03/2019 20:02

I use the Veet wax strips for the face. Very easy to use and the hair stays away for a good 2 weeks

yips · 16/03/2019 20:05

I just shave it with a normal razor. Call it dermaplaning if you want Wink

Two2tango · 16/03/2019 20:42

I have invested in the finishing touch and working up the courage to use it! If that's no good I'll move onto threading I think...

I use twinkle razors, work fine, use about once a week.

trader21c · 16/03/2019 22:10

Another vote for threading

I'm pleased to report that the flawless gadget has done the job.

As an unfortunate consequence though, I have now spotted I have tiny wrinkles around my upper lip. These must have been hidden by the hair!! Time to step up the skin care regime..

Lilibeth of New York Brow Shaper (can be used on the upper lip) and Rubis tweezer (the best!!) on the regrowth.

BotherationBuggeration · 20/03/2019 01:26

Is the Finishing Touch an electric shaver? I use a battery powered facial epilator, no stubble!

Two2tango · 20/03/2019 16:40

Yes that's essential what it is although a very gentle tiny one.

I posted about this last month.
I've now had my first session of ipl.
I'm going back soon for another session.
So far so good.

Triglesoffy · 20/03/2019 16:46

Is the finishing touch thing OK for sensitive skin?

EngagedAgain · 20/03/2019 16:57

I pluck the coarse hairs and use a mini trimmer to go over the rest on a weekly basis. Also use under brows about weekly, and whole face occasionally. Not sure what it's called as had it for years. Tried bleaching, waxing, but they cause irritation, and bleach (Jolene) you still have the hair just white 😬 I can do it as and when and costs nothing apart from the gadget approx £10 and tweezers.
