How do you remove your make-up?

If you wear a fair amount of make-up, how do you remove it at night?

I usually massage coconut oil in and wipe off with a wet face cloth. Just wondering if there is a better (but not too expensive) way to do it.

I do the same. Coconut oil and a muslin. Cheap, easy and keeps my face moisturised!

fruityb · 01/03/2019 17:41

Coconut oil and a cheeky wipes pad! It’s the best thing I ever discovered and my skin is great!

cleaningadvice · 01/03/2019 17:43

Is coconut oil non comedogenic?

Fstar · 01/03/2019 17:52

Wipes, no7 hot cloth cleanser, wipe of micellar and then eye make up remover

loveliesbleeding1 · 01/03/2019 17:57

No7 cleansing balm, hot flannel, miceller water for eye makeup.(bought the cleanser when it was on offer for a fiver)

KTD27 · 01/03/2019 18:01

@cleaningadvice yes it is technically. Though I believe virgin coconut oil isn’t? Not sure of the science behind that claim though if I’m honest so I could be wrong.

For me it’s a hot cloth and either votary cleansing oil if I’m flush or the Emma Harding cleansing balm from M&S it smells AMAZING

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 01/03/2019 18:01

Miceller water for face and baby lotion for eye make up

KTD27 · 01/03/2019 18:02

As in it is comedogenic. Virgin apparently non comedogenic. I think...

Missmarplesknitting · 01/03/2019 18:04

Face halo.
Then wash.

Raera · 01/03/2019 18:09

Simple wipes. Anything else makes my eyes react

Kelsoooo · 01/03/2019 18:09

An oil (any, currently B) rinsed off
Cream cleanser (any) rinsed off

Konjac sponge, just wet.

Then tone with a thyme toner.

Removes all my makeup, including ELDW foundation.

Cold Cream and a flannel. Or any random water in oil tub we've got laying about (DP has lots of tubs for Psoriasis).

Never fails to get the mascara/gel liner off (which has always been the most difficult, particularly as almost everything I've tried has made the skin around my eyes sting).

Pinkyyy · 01/03/2019 18:14

Mine feels slightly high maintenance compared to most of these, but I try to look after my skin the best I can. My two main 'goals' are removing all traces of makeup and rehydrating my skin.

  1. use nivea eye makeup remover on cotton pads to remove eye makeup
  2. rub Clinique balm all over my face and wipe of with damp face cloth
  3. use cleanser on cotton pads to make sure there's no makeup left
  4. moisturise face with body shop vitamin E serum
  5. body shop vutamin E under eye roll on

Simple Eye make up remover on a washable pad .
Eve Lom cleansing balm , removed with muslin cloth
Pixie toner
Oil of Olay eye cream , any serum & moisturiser
Clarisonic when I have time with clarins foaming face wash

cookiemonster3 · 01/03/2019 18:22

It was Clinique take the day off balm followed by my skin care routine of cleanse and retinol but now I have the primark make up removing cloths I just use them with water followed by my skin care routine. Cost £2 for 3 and I was them along with my resizable cotton pads.

cookiemonster3 · 01/03/2019 18:23

Reusable bot resizable. Sorry I had a toddler climbing over me as I typed.

Cla9 · 01/03/2019 18:35

I use a wipe then micellar water and cotton pads then a moisture spray.

princessbear80 · 01/03/2019 19:50

Almond oil and warm wet flannel, followed by any cream cleanser and warm wet flannel.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 01/03/2019 20:20

Micellar water then an oil based cleanser and hot flannel.
Tone with Pixi Glow then moisturise.

SweetPeaPods · 01/03/2019 20:24

Body shop chamomile cleansing butter and wiped with a wet flannel. The luxury body shop one is lovely. Eye make up remover with cotton wool first if I’ve got particularly heavy eye make up on. Then moisturiser.

Quintella · 01/03/2019 20:32

Massage oil cleanser into my face (currently using Superfacialist Vitamin C cleanser)
Wipe off with nice hot flannel
Massage in cream cleanser (currently using Garnier Rose cleansing milk)
Wipe off with hot flannel

I don't bother with separate eye makeup remover as the oil cleanser just dissolves it all.

Quintella · 01/03/2019 20:34

Personally I'm not a fan of coconut oil. Olive oil is preferable as it's less comedogenic.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/03/2019 20:43

Remove makeup with micellar water, then cleanse with either an oil (Chanel) or a balm (M&S Pure) and hot flannel. I use the Nivea two phase eye makeup remover on eyes because I use waterproof mascara. Pixi Glow tonic, serum, moisturiser. I tend to do it as soon as I get in from work so I don’t end up knackered and not bothering properly.

Chocolatecheeks111 · 01/03/2019 20:46

Sukin cream cleanser..... all natural ingredients so so lovely !

greenelephantscarf · 01/03/2019 20:47

moisturiser on a piece of loo paper tissue to take off eye make up, followed by soap and warm water & flannel.
