slendertone

Does anyone have experience of this?
I have done everything I can to try and get rid of the mum tum, I've slimmed to a size 8 and still it's there.
I exercise and have a fairly healthy diet so I'm not expecting the slendertone to do all the work, I just want to tone the area more than it is at the moment

If its just fat i doubt anything will get rid of it, except a tummy tuck, slendertones are good for muscle but wont do anything as far as i know for fat, unless maybe trying one of the skin tightening treatments , you could google it

minesthecutest · 29/01/2019 23:14

only partly fat, mainly just loose due to my c sections so I'd like that to tone up but I don't know if it'll work.
I wish I could afford a tummy tuck.

If you have gone down to a size 8 though, i doubt if much else can work, as you dont want to lose anymore weight do you?
Hopefully someone else might come on here with a solution

Following. I'm currently wearing more structured underwear, not sexy but helps my clothes to fit better

minesthecutest · 30/01/2019 13:58

someone here mustve tried a slendertone??
I even had a 6 month sugar free period and still nothing shifted off the tum Sad I've since started eating choc again but I don't have much so I don't even think it's fat.

I have a friend who gets awful bloating when she has gluten, would it be worth trying that in case it's bloating rather than fat? Wouldn't help loose skin though, when did you have your baby?

SirVixofVixHall · 30/01/2019 14:04

Is it the c section shelf ? I have a really bad one after two c-sections. It was bad even when I was slim, now I have put a bit of weight on it is horrendous.
I would not have surgery, but I would try anything else, once I have got my weight back down.

Liz38 · 30/01/2019 14:11

If it's the post c section overhang, do let me know if it works. Mine appears to be going nowhere. I always thought cosmetic surgery was crazy, now I'm tempted. Won't be doing it though as I'll never have that sort of spare cash!

UpToonGirl · 30/01/2019 14:51

I used a cheap version and a proper slendertone after my first baby, no csection so once I'd slimmed down just a jiggly belly. I did find both made small improvements, the proper version more so but after two babies more and two sections I wouldn't use it personally as I know it wouldn't make any difference to my current belly.

If you're just wobbly it possibly will help, if you use it religiously every day and exercise on top but it's not going to give you Victoria Secret model abs! Look on eBay, you need to buy pads for it anyway so second hand is fine.

minesthecutest · 30/01/2019 17:04

Thank you yes I was going to look on eBay as I'm not willing to pay full price if it's not going to do much but anything is better than this jiggly mess.
it's definitely c section leftovers not bloating.
I have a fairly healthy diet although the sugar has snuck back in.
not many carbs if I do then wholemeal/grain or sweet potato then veg and usually chicken or fish plus plenty of lentils and nuts for snacking.

Boots have the new Slendertone Connect on offer for 74.99. I'm tempted myself for the same reason as you, 3 csections and I just can't shift the little pouch I'm left with.

Banjax · 30/01/2019 18:50

Get a second hand on off ebay. Then buy new gel doodahs

It really worked really well on me - after csection.

I did it primarily to strengthen my core when I was recovering from two slipped discs.

Honestly my muscles felt so firm, but I was a hardcore impatient cow and had it ramped up to the highest settings and on for a couple of hours a day...think thats what it takes tbh

minesthecutest · 30/01/2019 19:39

Thank you! is there a particular model? Ab5 and abs7 seem to be thre most popular on eBay at least

Bumblebee39 · 30/01/2019 20:06

What exercise do you do? It may be your not using and building your core muscles enough
I think if you do use the slender tone increased core work Would help too. Even just sitting on an exercise ball instead of the sofa would strengthen your core

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 30/01/2019 20:23

I had one and honestly couldn't feel anything. No aches the next day like traditional sit ups would and no effect on my body.

minesthecutest · 30/01/2019 20:43

I suffered from spd or pgp during my pregnancies and when I did on a exercise ball it open up my pelvis and I start to feel those aches again.Sad

OP posts:
minesthecutest · 30/01/2019 20:57

oh no whenasuitcasejustwontdo don't say that. This was my last chance at fixing it bawls out loud

OP posts:
Banjax · 30/01/2019 21:45

i did feel it but you have to ramp ot up to the max, and d it for a coupoe of hours, none of this ten minutes a day nonsense

Bumblebee39 · 30/01/2019 21:48

@minesthecutest

Sounds like you might need to start more gently
I too had (and have again right now as it goes) SPD pretty badly and had to work with a physio to strengthen my core.
Lots of bridges!
It took my a while to get back to sit ups etc. But I could eventually
I know a couple of women who had it and there muscles didn't go back together properly which caused gut and pain if they did core stuff

lightisrightisnight · 30/01/2019 21:48

i've heard great things about weighted hula hoops for shifting belly fat. Something about them getting the blood flow to all the fat cells and helping break them down. apparently a bit painful after the first time (bruises) but you soon get used to it. Need to buy one ASAP!

Passthecake30 · 30/01/2019 21:51

Pilates is great for focusing on your stomach

Bumblebee39 · 30/01/2019 21:56

@lightisrightisnight

I used weighted hoop after DC1 and didn't get any bruises
Will get another one after DC3 (small gap between DC2 and DC3, by the time I was getting my body back I was pregnant again)

Hoop, HIIT, Pilates, and don't forget your pelvic floor exercises! They do some magic from the inside!

princessTiasmum · 01/02/2019 20:10

Groupon have slendertone on offer at £39-98, shows pic of man and woman so dont know what the difference in the slendertone is for male or female,or maybe just saying its for either,
Worth a look, normally about £74 it says

MoltonSilver · 01/02/2019 20:26

I tried slendertone. I had no muscle tone after my c section. I found it good. It got my the the point of having the strength to do a proper sit up. After that I switched to exercise. The best thing of all for that area has been pilates.
