Nuface Mini - anyone have one?

snowdropsndaffs · 19/01/2019 16:51

If you have one of these, does it really make a difference and, is so, how has it changed your face? Is it worth the money?

Also, how often do you usevit and for how long?

Finally, a reviewer on Space NK, I think, mentioned that it was like eating tinfoil if you have deep amalgram fillings! Anyone else?

Thanks.

Following as I have one that I bought a couple of years ago, I didn’t use it for long enough to notice any results & it’s been gathering dust ever since. I have a terrible habit of buying gizmos & gadgets that I end up not using Blush but I did make a New Years resolution to give this a fair try - just haven’t quite got round to it yet...

One thing that’s putting me off is having to use the conductive gel that came with it as I didn’t like that last time so would be interested to see if there are any alternatives, presume mine will be out of date & need chucking anyway. I’ve also got a skincare routine I’m happy with so a bit reluctant to tinker with it.

Truckingonandon · 19/01/2019 18:00

Yes, me! I bought one a couple of days ago. 20% off, so it cost about £130. It also has a money back guarantee of 60 or 90 days - can't remember which, so I figured I have nothing to lose. I've hammered it the last 2 days, doing 20 mins, rather than the recommended 5! It's a strange sensation on the highest setting but totally bearable. You can use aloe Vera gel once the supplied tube of gel runs out. It's possibly a bit too soon to say if it's having any effect yet but I'm going to keep going with it.

princessTiasmum · 19/01/2019 21:12

Ihad a Nu face mini, i recnt bought a full sie Nuface Trinity, which has a top that lifts off so you can add attachments,
I am not sure if it makes a lot of difference but i do use it most night, for about 20 minutes,
If i miss a night, which i do sometimes, i think i can see a difference, but might be my imagination,
I think its worth a try, but i still think some of these things are a gimmick, so not really convinced
On the other hand my jowls have not got any worse, but im not young, it might be different for someone younger
I doubt if you will see a difference in 60-90 days
I use Aloe Vera gel, as the other stuff is very drying i find

snowdropsndaffs · 19/01/2019 23:11

Oh I really wanted to read rave reviews! Lukewarm about it. I’d love if someone said it really smoothed out nasolabial folds and fine lines.

Where did you order from Trucking?

Truckingonandon · 19/01/2019 23:37

Current body.

princessTiasmum · 20/01/2019 10:13

There are some good reviews about it somewhere on these threads, you might need to go back a bit,
Maybe try in the search ,where you put the name of the item you want to read about in Smile

SallieSallow · 20/01/2019 10:14

I was hoping it might work on nasiolabial folds and drooping/sagging round the mouth and jawline. I’ve already spent the money and have the thing gathering dust so really need to give it a proper try.

We’ve started discussing it over on the Fantastic skincare thread on here & some of us are/will be using it if you want to check for updates Snowdrop

princessTiasmum · 20/01/2019 14:07

It definitely doesnt work on nasolabial folds, which is the reason i bought mine in the first place, as one side of my face is drooping a little compared to the other, and it has made no difference at all
I mainly use it for jawline and jowls, but not sure if its working or not, sometimes looks better than others, but i dont the strength is high enough

SallieSallow · 20/01/2019 16:03

Now that is not what I wanted to hear Princess Sad but jawline and jowls would do me, but even that doesn’t sound very promising. Though might be worth it as a preventative to stop the droop getting any worse, even if it doesn’t improve it any.

PeroniZuchini · 20/01/2019 18:33

I started using one about six weeks ago. I’ve used it every day bar about four or five, and for much longer than recommended (I think - I do a whole sequence on each area: neck, cheeks and forehead). I did put on some weight over Chrstmas which I am yet to shed, so am aware that I might be looking a little ‘jowlier’ in the face than usual.

I haven’t made up my mind about it yet. Last week I noticed that I was looking really good, somehow, and couldn’t figure out what it was, so I wondered whether it was the NuFace. However the change is so subtle I’m wondering whether it’s worth the hassle. If I didn’t have to use the horrible slimy conductive gel I would be more inclined to keep going with it, because it’s a pain to have to wash my face every time.

Also I’m sure I read somewhere that it only offers a temporary lift, so I’m wondering whether it’s worth keeping going with it if it isn’t doing anything in the long term.

I’m a big believer in ageing naturally and had high hopes that something like this would help but I’m wondering whether to send it back.

mycatplotsdeath · 20/01/2019 18:56

I love mine.
I smother my face in aloe Vera gel and do it for a good 10 to 20 mins a night.
I also just pinpoint areas like the jaw and do repetitive movements.
I did a before photo, and then take one every month to check progress.
It is subtle but it is definitely working and I will replace it when I need to.

snowdropsndaffs · 20/01/2019 22:20

Oh gosh, mixed reviews. I imagine it would be subtle and it’s not a miracle product but would be nice if it lifted things, just a little. I read a thread about fillers a few weeks back and a poster had commented that for nasolabial folds, her practitioner didn’t inject into the folds but higher up the face and it looked more natural. If I lift my cheek the teeniest bit, I can see what she means. Maybe fillers would be the anser if they were subtle enough?

OP posts:
Truckingonandon · 20/01/2019 22:49

Well I'm just trying this out but I suspect that I'll eventually have a bit of filler in my cheeks. I'm just trying to put it off for as long as possible.

princessTiasmum · 21/01/2019 16:17

Apparently you are not supposed to feel anything even on the highest setting, but i ha one before this until it wore out and i could feel tingling sometimes, i cant feel anything with this one, unless i touch where there is no gel accidentally,
I think some of these gizmos are over rated, i have tried a Dermawand too, didnt think much of that either,it did gie a nice glow to your face after using it, but didnt lift anything
I saw a demo once showing it lifting someones eyebrow, didnt do anything for mine,

Truckingonandon · 21/01/2019 17:58

Well this has got a money back guarantee, so nothing to lose in trying it.

princessTiasmum · 21/01/2019 20:02

That is th good thing about Current Body, you have 90 days to test it
As you say ,nothing to lose and might find its worth it

SallieSallow · 21/01/2019 20:16

That ship has sailed for me (90 day MBG) but as my money is already long spent I’ve nothing to lose by giving it a proper try. Next stop for me will also be fillers and/or Botox too I think, though not sure there’s much can be done about the saggy jowl issue other than a facelift.

princessTiasmum · 21/01/2019 20:26

Wel cheek fillers re supposd tolift your jowls a bit, I had it done 2 weeks ago, did look good, not too pronounce, but did lift a bit, but my practitioner does them in 2 appointments to make sure they are not overdone the first time, the swelling has gone now, although it wasnt bad, so they look less good now, but still better thna beforehoping the second lot look as good and stay that way,
They didnt look false at all, just really filled in where i had lost fat from my face with age, and got rid of nasolabial folds
It wasnt painful at all by the way, i was thrilled, it did knock a few years off, looking forward to the final step

SallieSallow · 22/01/2019 20:55

I’m going to look into fillers thanks for sharing Princess but not right now as I’m skint! So I’m going to give the nuface a fighting chance first, though I haven’t even motivated myself to start using it yet.

princessTiasmum · 22/01/2019 21:47

I hope it works for you SallieSallow let us know how you get on with it ,
I think it will if you use it every night, but it doesnt give a lasting result, you have to keep at it x
Going for my second session of fillers on feb 7th, my birthday actually Smile

MissKittyBeaudelais · 23/01/2019 10:32

Princess I have to disagree on the naso-labial folds, personally. I didn’t expect much but, what I’ve found is that it has lifted , plumped and smoothed my cheek area and, the knock on effect of that, is that my N/L folds have “shortened”.

I have the NuFace Mini. I think it’s brilliant and well worth the cost. I wouldn’t splash out on the one with the attachments because for me, I wanted a ten minute no faff routine that I’d stick to. The more there is for me to do, the less likely I am to do it. I’ve used my mini now for ten months or thereabouts and I never do more than the information booklet says, I have 1 or 2 nights off a week now as I’m “maintaining” and if it died tomorrow, I’d order another immediately 😊

I hated the conductive gel and now use an organic aloe Vera gel from Holland and Barrett. It’s fine. I use mine at night. Leave the gel in (as it says) and put Aveeno cream in top.

Seriously, they’re good. And you’ll not need to buy expensive lifting/anti ageing creams. Nothing’s worked this well for me and I’m sticking with it.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 23/01/2019 10:43

Meant to say, fillers are, in my opinion, only as good as the practitioner doing them. With NuFace, if you use as advised, it’s a continuous process. I’ll swear my skin looks better, week in week.

This pic was taken last October. I’m 57.

Nuface Mini - anyone have one?
MissKittyBeaudelais · 23/01/2019 10:48

Sorry to post in cribs and draws...I keep thinking of something else 😊. During the trial period, I kept thinking I’d return it as hadn’t done “amazing” things for my saggy jaw/neck. But, I left it too late and decided to persevere. SO glad I did. You will not see much before 4-6 months, in the way of change imo (then again, I’m 57). But when people start to say “you’ve lovely skin, what cream do you use?” and the only thing different in your routine is NuFace, then you’ll know it’s working.

Obviously, it’s not going to make time stand still but, it helps or HAS helped me.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 23/01/2019 10:49

Fuck me! DRIBS and DRABS....DRIBS AND DRABS 😡😡😡

princessTiasmum · 23/01/2019 11:35

MissKitty i am glad its working for you, i did thik at one point it was working for me, as i sometimes looked and seemed to have some improvement, but recently doesnt seem to be doing much
I have put a bit of weight on, so my face has got a little fatter, maybe its because of this, maybe just more fat to work on, as i suppose it could make the skin looser, flabbier
I do think its worth giving it a try
I wasnt for a minute suggesting it wouldnt work on everyone.
I know there are some good reviews on here, somewhere down the line.just not working for me at the moment
