Following on the success of the long running Royal Style & Gossip threads, I am starting a companion thread, for us to still chat about frocks and indulge in a bit of non spiteful gossip. In the spirit of the other naice threads, please keep this fluffy too.

Meanwhile some of the Brits’ dresses never arrived so they had to make do with furnishings. Jessie Buckley wore the lampshade and Claire Foy had to wrap a curtain around her, poor love.

Timothee Chalamet is looking very jazzy though!

All of the BAFTA dresses so far are awful. Apart from Glen Close. And Claire Foy's lipstick is ice. Edith Bowman looks terrible. She just cannot carry off those looks. And the dress is too long as well.

What on earth is Edith wearing? It looks like an Elizabethan ruff?

Even the usually-reliable Rachel Weisz has gone for something girlish and frou frou.

Similarly feelings about Rachel Weisz's dress more appropriate for a Lily Collins or Hailee Steinfeld. Lily and Rachel should swap.

Now this is more like it. Cate has gone brunette and looks magnificent in a dress that would look OTT on anyone else.

And apparently Gaga is not attending.

Edith Bowman looks like she's crossed Little BoPeep's dress with an outfit from the Austrian National Dress wardrobe
Thandie isn't up to her usual stunning appearance.

No idea who the actress is, but love the blue.

Gaga is at the Grammys.
The outfits there will probably make the Baftas look like a vicarage tea party

The nuisance is that :

There is a delay on the awards broadcast so all the winners will start coming through on alert before the show unless I turn my phone off for 2 hours (unlikely) you don't get this problem with the Oscars

Astonishing failure from Bowman can't imagine anyone looking at that and thinking :

"Perfect for BAFTA"
