Cream to help facial redness

Hoping someone can help.
I suffer with rosacea on my cheeks and never go out without makeup on as I just dont feel comfortable. I am expecting my first baby at Christmas and know I wont have time for my usual makeup routine. I need a cream I can use to help calm the redness. Something to just slap on quickly.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I’ve just been diagnosed with rosacea and use unscented CeraVe, Avene or LRP products.
When my cheeks and nose are angry I put on Avene Cicalfate which is a zinc cream. I’m not sure what it would be like under make up though :-)

I’ve just found out my IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness from the cupboard. I’d forgotten how good it is, I’d really recommended it. I put a bit of the CC Cream on top if I want extra coverage.

I don't have rosacea but I do get redness on my cheeks and have a bit of acne scarring. REN evercalm day cream has really helped. I love that it has no nasties in it. I've seen it recommended for rosacea.

I used the Kalme concealer for the first time yesterday. First impressions were I had to use quite a bit to have any effect on the redness. However my make up went on more smoothly and I used less of it. I than spent the day on a very windy cold dog walk, reading next to a hot fire with some red wine. And yeah, I had no flushing ! My cheeks didn’t glow once. To me that’s a minor miracle. They did however flush when I took my make up off. And man that stuff sticks.
So it really does work but I’m hoping I have no adverse reaction to this product as I have highly sensitised skin that often reacts after a while.

Azelaic acid cream from your doctor. Actually works

NeurotrashWarrior · 04/11/2018 19:27

Didn't realise you could get it from your dr?

Again, loving what it does from the ordinary one.

Turniptracker · 06/11/2018 21:56

I find it much more effective than the ordinary and it doesn't have silicone in it. You get higher strength on prescription too

NeurotrashWarrior · 07/11/2018 07:10

How do you get it on prescription though? I think they'd look at me like I was mad (though my kp is out of control on my legs)

BrightonBB · 07/11/2018 07:19

Sudocrem works for me. Thin layer overnight and for bigger flare ups I top up during the day too. Seems to help minimise pores too.

GhostCurry · 07/11/2018 18:44

Does Sudocrem really work? It seems like it would irritate, but I’m happy to be told otherwise!

Biologifemini · 07/11/2018 19:04

Sudocrem definitely works
Only a very thin layer
Serozinc also helps me

BrightonBB · 07/11/2018 19:09

I think Sudocrem works because it contains Zinc.

LizzieBennettDarcy · 07/11/2018 19:14

DH has got rosacea and I found him some Kalme skincare for a christmas present last year. The cleansing balm is gorgeous, and it's made a huge difference to his skin. He uses the moisturiser too.

GhostCurry · 07/11/2018 19:14

Thanks both!

Auldspinster · 07/11/2018 19:16

Avene do a good anti redness moisturiser.

NeurotrashWarrior · 07/11/2018 19:51

Fwiw there's a milder more moisturising version of sudocrem formulates as a nappy cream. Might work! I think you can get zinc in castor oil as a nappy cream from boots too.

teta · 08/11/2018 11:08

I’ve now added in Kalme night cream to my Kalme Concealer. I’ve used it for the last couple of nights with no reaction and due to its light texture I’ve also used it today instead on my normal Clinique moisturiser. Dd2 also has Rosacea I think, that gets worse in Winter. So I will try the night cream on her dry scaly pin prick rash. My skin is definitely looking better after a few days.

Turniptracker · 08/11/2018 20:52

The azelaic acid is a known treatment for rosacea so try telling your Dr you'd like to try it to treat your redness. I don't see why they would say no

BagelGoesWalking · 09/11/2018 01:01

You could try this Azelaic serum. Not as strong as some prescription ones but pretty popular. The Ordinary have a version too but it contains silicones, which some people don't like.

MrsPworkingmummy · 09/11/2018 01:25

Placemarking. Some great suggestions here. OP, I, like you, am desperate to get rid of my redness. Xx

BradleyPooper · 09/11/2018 01:44

IPL is brilliant and it's made a big difference to me, also dr Jart Cicapair. Best thing to stop it recurring or getting worse though is mineral sunscreen every single day....

florriepeck · 09/11/2018 09:32

Skin Doctor Vein Away Plus has got rid of the thread veins on my cheeks after a few weeks of twice daily use.
Also using it on a couple of areas on my thigh, which are more stubborn, but much improved.
