Cream to help facial redness

Pob13 · 27/10/2018 22:03

Hoping someone can help.
I suffer with rosacea on my cheeks and never go out without makeup on as I just dont feel comfortable. I am expecting my first baby at Christmas and know I wont have time for my usual makeup routine. I need a cream I can use to help calm the redness. Something to just slap on quickly.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Pure Aloe Vera gel?

chartreuse · 27/10/2018 23:16

La Roche Posay have a range for rosacea, Rosiliac I think. I've used their stuff for years and everything has been excellent, does exactly what it says it will do.

I use sudocrem after I read about someone else using it on here. A really thin layer like a mask before going to bed. I do this about 2 or 3 times a week but did most nights when I first started doing it. Works a treat for me.

Boots No 7 do a green primer which is brilliant at helping redness.
They've also just brought out a 'face paste' which is an overnight treatment for redness and it works well for me

Olivecake · 28/10/2018 11:45

It cosmetics bye bye redness cream is really good. They have a few other items in the range too that might be of interest.

Pob13 · 28/10/2018 13:33

@Songsweusedtosing thanks for all that. Although mites sound rank!

Thanks all for the advice.

I was going to suggest the boots overnight treatment. It was recommended to me for the same reason. I still need to try it

Kalme do a nice concealer for redness, it’s like a CC cream and is so easy to blend.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream is also really, really good and more coverage than the Kalme one.

LoveBeingAMum555 · 30/10/2018 20:38

I have been devoted to Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Relief cream for years but recently struggled to get hold of it so have been using Body Shop Aloe Vera cream, which is not quite as good but perfectly acceptable at a much lower price.

ggirl · 30/10/2018 20:41

Essential have 30% of la roche posey and all french pharmacy stuff atm.

I would also recommend looking at IT cosmetics stuff for redness ,their cc cream is great redness coverage , was made for that exact problem .

They have other creams etc for it as well.

Factor 50 suncream every day, rain or shine! I use sudocrem when mine flares up, I get the hot red patch and little fluid filled blisters. If I wear makeup I find the heat from my roseacea melts it off on my red patches, but a C.C. cream under makeup and a powder on top helps.

Mine only developed during pregnancy, I had ‘butterfly Mask’ during pg3 and when it went it left behind rosacea?!

Hi.
I have tried so many products over the years with varying results. This stuff is magic. I can’t sing it’s praises enough. A total game changer. I happily go make up free now (unheard of!!).
Kinvara rosehip serum.

NeurotrashWarrior · 31/10/2018 07:40

After some research Azelaic acid is definitely helpful. I'm amazed at how TO one I've got makes my skin feel (bit tingly first few times) but may try this one above next time.

NeurotrashWarrior · 31/10/2018 07:46

I don't have full blown rosacea but I do have red cheeks that can get irritated. (It's actually kp related) - I am loving bareminerals complexion rescue to slap on plus has a mineral spf. I wandered off to see if there was anything else but all routes took me back to this as it has a mineral based sunscreen and I'm now using more than I used to and over my eyes. I don't know if the rest of the ingredients are ok for full rosacea though.

I'm also looking at a urea containing cream (Eucerin) as my skin has gone very dry post baby (now 5 months). It was lovely for the first 3 but the hormones have all worn off now!

Crazyladee · 31/10/2018 08:00

Have you tried Clinique's redness solution range?

Absolutely brilliant. Expensive but it lasts ages. And works.

SugarandVinegar · 31/10/2018 08:05

Another one recommending factor 50 every single day whether you leave the house or not [some daylight bulbs bring out a rosacea flare.]

RubySlippers77 · 31/10/2018 08:06

The Kalme moisturiser was brilliant for mine. I'd had red, overreacting, sore skin for years and now it's just, well, normal. Wish it had been around when I was a teenager and slapping on the Hide the Blemish - not many options in those days!

BagelGoesWalking · 31/10/2018 10:11

I've seen quite a few ppl say this Dr Jart Cicapair helps a lot with redness. It's quite expensive but now Asos has a small size to try

Pob13 · 31/10/2018 21:16

Thanks all

I’m in the process of having Ipl for Rosacea. I’ve had three sessions so far and four on my chest. It does work as I had it done years ago. However It’s so expensive and it takes a while to find the right settings to zap the blood vessels. I’m now going to try soolantra as my chest is spotty and red and seems to become worse in Winter.
I do have Mirvaso and find it useful before going out if this involves any wine. I hate the deep red flush I get after just one glass. With Mirvaso you can avoid this.
On your recommendations I’ve ordered the Kalme concealer and the Azaleic acid. The Clinique anti redness range didn’t seem to help me at all. I found the cream rather drying. Although I’ve used Clinique religiously for years. It’s the only range apart from Cetaphil and Cerave I don’t react to. I’m interested to see if the kalme concealer suits me.
