What beauty things make you feel better every day?

I use perfume every day, a nice pair of earrings makes a difference and I've just splashed out on some better skincare. There was a make up thread on AMA a while ago where the OP recommended botanics radiance balm and that was a great one. I guess I'm looking for other recommendations so that I can buy myself treats!

I like fake tan and fake eyelashes..... I’m not a prima Donna, promise! Just makes me feel like I have my shit together (even though I blatantly don’t!)

Nightlights · 12/10/2018 15:05

I could definitely do with a tan!

The almond oil wash thing from L’Occitane. It’s so indulgent and smells delicious

redcaryellowcar · 12/10/2018 15:08

I don't really have a lot of treats but use a clarins tinted moisturiser and for me it is the difference between feeling rubbish and feeling like I can face the world. I'm not usually into things with fragrance as I have sensitive skin but I like the way this smells!

BusterGonad · 12/10/2018 15:09

I wear perfume (cheap or expensive so long as it smells nice), I use good skin care, at the moment Origins. But I'm happy to use Nivea. I try to wear make up if I'm meeting people/friends. I've noticed that if I don't wear make up for a while I tend to start to feel a bit rubbish about myself, almost like I feel dowdy and then I realize when I wear it more regularly I feel happier within myself. I do love make up and it's a huge part of who I am. I love wearing it, applying it and especially buying it!

Just googled the almond oil @HoraceWimpIsThisYourLife and it really does look like a indulgent treat! Really fancy it

Nails nicely manicured (do them myself, not always painted but neat and shaped - Leighton Denny glass file is amazing and tweezerman cuticle clippers)
Good skincare - too much to go in to, see other threads
Style hair - babyliss big hair is great for front sections

AmabelleOnabike · 13/10/2018 09:32

Clarins Tonic shower and bath gel to start, (any) moisturiser, then Clarins beauty flash balm, (any) blush, eyelash curlers and (any) mascara. My current moisturiser and mascara are Aldi (in order that I can afford the Clarins luxuries Grin). Also my heated hair brush. Then I am ready to face the world without frightening people!

Sinead100 · 13/10/2018 09:35

I second the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil!

Kiehls Ultra Facial Day Cream is another one that makes my skin feel a bit more looked after than my usual daily Olay!

Notacluewhatthisis · 13/10/2018 09:35

My tape in extensions.....even my mum didn't know I wore them until last week and my falsh lashes.

Wear false lashes everyday and just feel better. I use very natural ones to thicken up what I have.

I do like to keep my nails done too.

beanaseireann · 13/10/2018 09:36

Horace
I second the L'occitane Almond shower oil.
I only buy it occasionally as it's sooo expensive. But it's lovely.
I fake tan my legs - not in tights yet but will be soon!
Nice lipoy, bit of bronzer, eye pencil, mascara. Good to go.
I've just realized how lucky I am never having had acne/ spots after reading so many Mumsnetters despairing of their skin.
Only downside is I'll wrinkle much earlier Smile

Amaaboutthis · 13/10/2018 09:38

Nails shellaced every 2-3 weeks and a blow dry whenever I feel really rubbish. We’ve a blow dry bar near us and it’s £15. It’s my guilty pleasure

Nightlights · 13/10/2018 09:38

Never used Clarins skincare before but it sounds great!

Claims flash balm is great

Gah81 · 13/10/2018 09:43

Jergens body moisturiser with collagen and elastin. Am slim but get cellulite incredibly badly (genetic) and have done from a very young age. My cellulite is the least it has been in many years, which I put down to a combination of this moisturiser, cutting out alcohol and a lot of yoga!

Nightlights · 13/10/2018 09:44

I have to get the flash balm! Do you put moisturiser on top?

OP posts:
QueenOfMyWorld · 13/10/2018 09:52

Face masks,fake tan,make up

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 13/10/2018 09:56

Optrexr brightening eye drops- you look like you haven’t got up tree times during the night.

Notacluewhatthisis · 13/10/2018 11:51

I put flash balm after moisturiser. I moisturize after my shower and do my make up about 20-30 mins later

Nightlights · 13/10/2018 12:00

Thanks! @Notacluewhatthisis

Blow dry for £15 !!!
My locals all charge over €30 and now the government has put an 4% extra VAT on Sad

lyinginthesundrinkingbubbles · 13/10/2018 13:52

I agree L'Occitane Almond oil shower followed by the moisturiser. Goes on so smoothly and you get little whiffs of subtle almond all day.
PS. The 500mls on line only dispenser is much better as the pump makes the oil go much further.

TipseyTorvey · 13/10/2018 13:58

Since I got massively into skincare last year and totally fixed my skin I love the caudilie vino perfect night cream. Wake up every morning looking like I actually slept (I don't, toddler will not allow that kind of nonsense). Then The Ordinary BHA/AHA deep blood red acid face mask stuff that feels like its burning off a layer of skin....actually I think that's probably exactly what its doing but it makes my skin look AWESOME. Aside from face stuff I love the L'Huile Prodigieuse which makes me feel like a princess. Then I put on slobby jeans and scrunch hair into a bun and go and clean the loo.....

evilharpy · 13/10/2018 18:58

Mascara. Never feel myself without it.

Polkapjs · 13/10/2018 20:50

Eyeliner. Newly discovered this year!
