Bravissimo is fantastic!

Went today, in despair about inability to find bra that fits, and how awful I look in t-shirts. In fact I had given up wearing them altogether and thought it was because of middle-aged spread, plus in the absence of decent bra was relying on M&S support vests which had a horribly flattening effect.
Anyhoo...
WEnt to Bravissimo, waited half an hour for a fitting and then - goodbye saggy 34DDs and Hellooo! to perky 30Fs (and 30FFs [shock}) My bosom hasn't been so uplifted since I was 25! I looked like I'd lost 10lbs.
And yah boo sucks to M&S whose fitter told me I was a 36C!

Hurray for you, I love Bravissimo I bet you feel FANTASTIC!

dustystar · 08/06/2007 17:43

Where is this shop? I always have a problem getting decent bras.

PersonalClown · 08/06/2007 17:43

I worship at the alter of Bravissimo. I've just got the summer catalogue and mentally spent hundreds of pounds already!

PersonalClown · 08/06/2007 17:44

altar, even!

PandaG · 08/06/2007 17:44

Agreed agreed! I love Bravissimo, and particularly the strappy top with built in bra. Is fab, and yes, I look slimmer!

weebleswobble · 08/06/2007 17:46

I love Bravissimo. John Lewis and M&S have fitted me so badly in the past and Bravissimo always get it right. Now I have drawers (excuse the pun) full!

dustystar · 08/06/2007 17:47

Where are they? I don't wan to just order online or from a catelogue

policywonk · 08/06/2007 17:48

M&S fitters are awful, IME. Tried to tell me I wa a 34D, when Bravissimo fitted me as a 32GG.

weebleswobble · 08/06/2007 17:48

Have a look at Bravissimo . This tells you where their shops are.

PersonalClown · 08/06/2007 17:49

Aloha · 08/06/2007 17:49

So tempting in there! I'd stopped buying bras because it was so dispiriting, suddenly there are racks of pale pink chiffon numbers with little blue bows and red gingham and ooooh, be still my beating credit card!

For a shop near you look at www.bravissimo.com (or co.uk, one or the other) I absolutely cannot recommend this company highly enough. I wanted to kiss my fitter, but I don't think she would have appreciated it

The only problem was that I'd trialled a new treatment for wrinkly cleavage that morning, which leaves you with the most bizarre lumps and red marks on yuor chest for 24hours, and I looked like a Dr Who alien or a crocodile handbag.

dustystar, they are highstreet as well as online, but big cities only I think. Whereabouts are you and I will did out my cate;logue and see where the nearest is

dustystar · 08/06/2007 17:49

Thanks weebles. Sadly they are all MILES away

Aloha · 08/06/2007 17:50

And that thing where you are supposed to measure yourself and add four inches or something is just crap. It does NOT work. Puts in you a bra about six sizes too big.

dustystar · 08/06/2007 17:50

I'm near Bournemouth so i think our nearest store would be London.

PandaG · 08/06/2007 17:51

dusty. they do do fitting over the phone though - sounds odd but might be helpful, I've not tried it, and their returns policy is very good.

JodieG1 · 08/06/2007 17:53

I agree it's a fantastic shop. I got some new bras from there when I was pregnant as I went up a size to 32E and hope to get some more after I finish breast feeding; depends what size they end up though as I think they onlyl sell D upwards don't they?

dustystar · 08/06/2007 17:53

Not sure I'd want to do it over the phone either as I like to try on a selection of bras and find the comfiest one. My sis lives up near Heathrow so maybe I'll go into one next time I go to see her.

Mercy · 08/06/2007 18:12

Goodness me, Aloha. That is a huge difference in sizes! Do you feel more comfortable now?

Are they good for very small sizes too?

Chloe55 · 08/06/2007 18:13

I went a couple of weeks ago - went from a 36E to a 34FF! Got some lovely bras that make me look so perky.

Mercy · 08/06/2007 18:14

Just had a look at the website. Sadly they are no good for me.

Aloha · 08/06/2007 18:15

They do small sizes ie really tiny back sizes, but start at D cup size. You'll be amazed how many of us are a D+ when properly fitted though!
And I am a zillion times more comfortable - bra no longer rides up, straps don't slip off and I don't have to fold my hands over my chestto hide the wibbly wobbly jiggle if I break into a brisk walk!

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 08/06/2007 18:16

I think they are just for big-boobed people.

SueW · 08/06/2007 18:17

Aloha, I'm so pleased for you. Last time I was in, they were brilliant and the fitter said they love making people feel so much better about themselves.

And they had no problems changing a strappy top with built-in bra I'd bought even though I'd worn it. It just wasn't at all comfortable - it was all scratchy inside the cup wires due to the way it had been constructed.

friendlyedjit · 08/06/2007 18:17

I'm off to be measured ASAP- if theres a way to lose and easy 10lbs!!!
