Bravissimo is fantastic!

Went today, in despair about inability to find bra that fits, and how awful I look in t-shirts. In fact I had given up wearing them altogether and thought it was because of middle-aged spread, plus in the absence of decent bra was relying on M&S support vests which had a horribly flattening effect.
Anyhoo...
WEnt to Bravissimo, waited half an hour for a fitting and then - goodbye saggy 34DDs and Hellooo! to perky 30Fs (and 30FFs [shock}) My bosom hasn't been so uplifted since I was 25! I looked like I'd lost 10lbs.
And yah boo sucks to M&S whose fitter told me I was a 36C!

I love bravissimo, I've been using them for years. I love the fact you can buy pretty sets which if you try and get a d plus in a normal shop they always have the teeny a cups left in the pretty sizes. Sometimes I despair of John Lewis. I like lejaby underwear but it just stops at a C cup in JL. I have bought loads of swim wear from bravissimo too and its really good, with built in bras to give you lots of support. try figleaves.com too they just show you what is in your sizes but you will find a lot of the makes are in bravissimo.

I have heard that M&S fitters are useless (with apols to anyone reading this who is one) and that Bravissimo are the bomb. Glad to have this confirmed; via their website you can book a fitting appointment on a Saturday I do believe - off to sort it out now!

dustystar · 08/06/2007 18:31

Just had a look at their stuff online and I am definitely going to go next time I'm up in London.

noddyholder · 08/06/2007 18:33

How embarressing though on a scale of 1 to 10.thereis one very near me and I still haven't been

PersonalClown · 08/06/2007 18:35

I've just had a quick look through the latest catalogue. I could easily spend £500 on the clothes alone!
A real saving spree or a lottery I think.

Mercy · 08/06/2007 18:40

I'm talking more A or AA size, plus a narrow back!

What's the other co. I've seen mentioned? Is it Figleaf?

Aloha · 08/06/2007 18:41

Not really embarrassing. Ie they don't make you take your bra off and look at you over their specs like they do in Rigby & Peller. They assess you with your existing bra on. You do put on the new bras in front of the fitter, but you just get into them quickly!

oh my god rigby and peller so do that! They just stare at them and guess. I had heard they were amazing and they told me I was a 34E instead of a 36D which I was wearing. I am actually a 36E and might even be an F if i was truly honest with myself. I should try an F and see if I get a good result. Also Rigby and Peller made my bust look like Madonnas conical bra which was not the look I was going for.

yes, figleaves is the company. they are great. you just put in your size and they tell you what they've got. They have really nice stuff too and some other reasonably priced one's. good returns policy

Go to Bravissimo Bosscat - but book or prepare to wait. The bras are lovely too. Lots of freya and panache and sexy little numbers. IMO R&P - with some exceptions -specialise in boulder holder numbers that could double as polo necks.

Well, it was about two sizes smaller than the one originally suggested by the M&S fitter! aktuarly, It isn't so much what the bra looked like, as what I looked like. I'd put it down to babies and middle age, but NO! with the right bra I look about 20, in the chest region anyway.

Yes, I have a really narrow back. But quite broad shoulders (or at least normal ones) which is odd.

oh I've been a convert for years to bravissimo I just haven't been measured for ages and have been ordering online. I love them have you tried their swimming costumes? I don't like their tops though, I'm sending 2 back

tribpot · 08/06/2007 18:57

Yes, a friend of mine went to Bravissimo and people seriously asked her for weeks after if she'd lost weight. Such is the power of the well-fitting bra!

Bravissimo mismeasured me . I remain faithful to R&P. But it's broadly a similar experience, in that my norks are youthfully uplifted and all.

one, which is gorgeous on - turquoise blue which suits olivey skin.

And a seamless balconnette one, www.bravissimo.com/products/details.aspx?pid=PN84& ;colour=NUDE which I had to order but it sent within three days with NO postage charge. Excellent.

Well, I'm quite waisty, but I look as if I have a much leaner torso and flatter stomach, I honestly do.
