Four days back & I'm in agony again Sad feet, back, legs!

I'm in a secondary school where the dress code is smart, I don't wear heels like most of the women do (how??) but I can't wear completely flat either I need a slight rise.

On training day I wear trainers & don't ache at all, is there anything smartish with a trainer like sole??

What does everyone else wear?

I'm breaking in Janes that are Doc Martens. I was about 12k steps a day around school (pastoral role) and I'm sick of paying about £50 every 3 months for shoes that I wear the sole through in. I can't wear heels all day but have. pair unless I need to look really smart for a meeting.

Oh wow, lack of previewing right there.

Walk about 12k...
Have a pair of heels under my desk..

And my link doesn't work. They are Polley Doc Martens. I'm going for a coffee now Blush

Hello, we're moving this thread over to our Style & Beauty topic at the OP's request.

I wear brogues to school for this reason. I have a pair of blue ones I love and look a little less year 9 😉

ElfrideSwancourt · 06/09/2018 19:52

Fitflops do Mary Janes and loafers- v comfy and smart Smile

mikeTV · 06/09/2018 23:27

Dr Marten shoes, hush puppies, Skechers Mary Janes or really good insoles

CountFosco · 07/09/2018 00:17

Another vote for brogues. And Clarks seem to make very soft leather shoes at a good price point. I like the look of these.

Rach5ll · 07/09/2018 17:57

The clarks ones do look stylish, not much of a sole though.
Then I find the ones with massive soles like fitflops too clumpy Blush
Has anyone tried Gabor? Expensive but maybe I need to spend a bit more than normal

I'm in a similar situation, OP. I have degenerative disc disease and hypermobile hips so heels are a huge no-no for me, but flats are almost as bad. For low-heeled shoes that are still supportive, Clarks always have a good selection of brogue styles that work well for me. Gabor, as you mentioned, are good but not especially stylish. Not sure how much that matters to you! Hotter and Scholl might also be worth a look.
