And cost per wear has it been worth it?
My boots about £80 and I've worn them three times (one around the house) so big fat NO! and handbag (also £80 ) never used but I love it

StealingYourWiFi Wish Id bought more bags as my wages have not increased in the same fashion & cannot justify it now.

Atalune · 05/09/2018 19:55

Cherry that sounds divine!

Nettletheelf · 05/09/2018 20:36

I would never spend more than £200 on a bag or a watch but I have a Prada dress that cost £1,200 and a Roland Mouret frock that was £1k. Love them. It was worth it. I’m more likely to buy posh labels in the sales, though.

CherryPavlova · 05/09/2018 20:37

Sadly, it finally disintegrated but I did cherish it for years - even when I would no longer fit in it!

JaceLancs · 05/09/2018 22:39

Gold omega watch is my biggest purchase
I have a few jaeger wool coats which are around £4-500 each, but they are classic styles and colours and don’t date

Bluelady · 05/09/2018 22:57

My grey Bayswater is heading into its fifth winter. I carry it every day in the winter months so cost per use is probably around £2 now, hopefully it'll last for years and that will come down to pence

Booskina · 06/09/2018 08:26

If you’re selling it pls pm me! ThxSmile

SleepingBooty · 06/09/2018 08:29

Glasses and prescription sunglasses. I'd love a statement bag or watch but I cannot justify spending £100s.

XingMing · 06/09/2018 08:41

Glasses here too... By the time you add up frames, varifocal and transitions lenses, you are looking at £££. Very glad to know that my Rx is unlikely to change much in the next five years!

BikeRunSki · 06/09/2018 08:53

My glasses. £420. I will wear them everyday for 2 years though, so CPW, less than 50p/day. And I can’t see much without them! I deliberately gave myself free rein of the frames to choose from, since I wear them all day, everyday.

Less functionally, probably a lambs wool/cashmere mix overcoat innougt in the Austin Reed sale about 6 years ago. £150, prob witnessed it around 25 times, but it’s a classic style I will continue to wear for years to come.

justkeeprunning5 · 06/09/2018 09:06

Aside from my wedding dress... A gorgeous soft brown leather jacket from Ted Baker. Was in the same but still £220, much more than I have ever spent on anything else but so worth it. Will last years.

Other than that, brown boots from Jones the Bootmaker for about £130 5 years ago, need a new heal every now and then but still going well. Wear them nearly every day in the winter:

anonymousbird · 06/09/2018 09:13

My watch. A Rolex so several £1000 but worn every day for 12 years and I adore it, it's part of me! Only take it off to clean it and would never be without it.

hammeringinmyhead · 06/09/2018 10:15

A Burberry Daylesmoore wool coat last November. I paid about £480 I think? Can't remember exactly.

Before that a printed oak Mulberry Bayswater which was £600ish in 2013. It's still almost pristine, has had moderate wear, but needed a corner piping repair after a year which was a bit disappointing.

Next are a fair few things that were around £200-£300. Duo boots, All Saints Bales leather jacket. It's rare I pay over £100 for something though. The rest of my bags are Coach sale, Fossil, Longchamp.

Cutesbabasmummy · 06/09/2018 10:54

My parents bought me a TAG Heuer watch when I was 16 after good GCSE results and a summer in hospital having surgery. It was £700 then. I'm now 42 and still wear it without fail every day.

IJustLostTheGame · 06/09/2018 11:23

About 10 years ago I bought a chanel 2:55.
I've never regretted it.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 06/09/2018 13:24

My chocolate leather mini double zip
UGGS £-125 3 years ago
Wear them almost daily in winter and still in perfect condition
I'm on Disability benefits do a lot of money for me

HappyGirlNow · 06/09/2018 15:02

My Omega watch.. although my husband actually bought it for me.. £4600.. only had it a few days but absolutely love it..

www.laingsuk.com/omega-de-ville-prestige-co-axial-8176

Other than that, I have bought quite a few designer bags, up to £1400ish a piece..

MidLifeCrisis2017 · 06/09/2018 15:10

My wellies, £140. I wear them at least two hours a day six months a year. I was buying Joules and having to replace them every six months so these have been a bargain, relatively.

amymel2016 · 06/09/2018 15:12

Chanel 2.55, was £1.8k when I bought it, cost per wear is probably £72ish. Mad money but I absolutely love that bag.

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 06/09/2018 15:15

Ignoring wedding and engagement ring as one was a gift and one was a joint purchase.

I would say my diamond stud earring. £1000 6 years ago. Never take them out so very low CPW.

sammylady37 · 06/09/2018 15:34

I bought a givenchy bag a few years ago for 2k. It’s fabulous and I’ve gotten lots of use out of it.

WillowRose79 · 06/09/2018 15:36

My Micheal Kors bag- brought in New York for $400 when I was 21, saved for months! Still have it now even tho it's completely battered I still use it, full of memories!

WillowRose79 · 06/09/2018 15:37

Oh yeah and my wedding dress which was £2000 and only worn once and currently sitting inside a quilt cover!

SpeckledyHen · 06/09/2018 16:42

Pre - loved Darwin oak Mulberry Bayswater bag for £325

pasturesgreen · 06/09/2018 17:10

My Mulberry briefcase was about £600 4 years ago. Used it everyday for a short while, but these days I tend to just chuck everything into a capacious tote and go, while the briefcase sits unused at the back of my wardrobe, so cost per wear has been a bit pants.

Recently bought on holiday an amber necklace that cost about £500. Haven't worn it yet but I love it, so I estimate a reasonable cost per wear.

My Burberry raincoat cost about £450 in 2011 and has been worn religiously since. It's the sort of thing I could wear for life, provided I don't put on too much weight.

I also collect silk designer scarves, price between £200-£400 each, which get worn everyday except in the height of summer, so bargain cost per wear overall.
