Next Saturday, garden party for 30/40 pax.

lOts of upmarket folk going [dh and I will b ethe token underclass ]

I am thining nice jeans, I saw lovely cream/gold longish vest top that I could team with a belt and wear gold flip flops.

Dh says no to jeans, dress like a lady he says.

Suggesstions please.

I rather like the dress on that wedding thread

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:32

The green one?

Also I have £100 in vouchers for M&S so if it's from there even better

Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:34

hang on .. will check on M&S .. what you look like northerner (hair / skin / body shape / height?)

Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:35

gosh. you're really rather young and beautiful aren't you

off to look at M&S

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:36

Yes I like it but it is very 'day time' ish doncha think. Would be fab for wedding/races but everyone else at this do will be funky and edgy IYSWIM.

far too young and beautiful to need our advice

wear a large filthy sack and make the rest of us look better

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:37

Thaks for complimemt btw

OP posts:
Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:38

if everyone else is funky and edgy do you think M&S is the right place to look?

Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:39

spotty dress

Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:40

garden parties to me say classic floaty dress to be honest .. you know your monsoon variety

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:40

Ahem, no!

You are right Twig. Just thinking of saving myself some doe that's all

I don't do edgy though, I am bargain shopper. Love Primark and New Look. Am floundering over this.

OP posts:
Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:41

not sure if I hate this but you did say funky

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:42

Yes, like the spotty one. Graden Party to me says that too (think of Julia Roberts at races in pretty woman with beige spotty dress), but just not this one. This one even has footballers wives

Not famous ones though. Well no one I've heard of.

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:42

Oh no, tunic thing not me.

OP posts:
Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:43

say garden party and this springs to mind

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:45

Sorry Twig, forget to mention am allergic to Per Una. I sweat just by walking past.

Alos am only 5 foot 4 so that sweeping bottom thing would swamp me.

Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:47

have you got good legs

Twiglett · 05/06/2007 17:49

I'd get the green spotty from Debenhams and get some fab shoes to go with it

alycat · 05/06/2007 17:49

Remeber, if it is in a garden, flats or wedges. Grass will wreck your Jimmy Choo spike heels!

seamonster · 05/06/2007 17:50

Too small mini skirt, too tight vest top, thong visible. High heeled sandals (gold or silver) and ankle bracelets.

bundle · 05/06/2007 17:51

are we talking footballers' wives?
or buck house?

DrNortherner · 05/06/2007 17:53

legs are good just very white, don't really want to go tightless.
