What can I do to look younger between now and Monday - skint

Hello fellow MNers

I have a meeting at the end of the day on Monday - kind of an interview but more in the format of a chat (much nicer).

I'm feeling like I'm looking REALLLY old - which I am. My neck has really really started sagging very obviously and my face is like a roadmap.

I've got no money for Botox or anything like that sadly.

Is there ANYTHING I can do between now and Monday, on an incredibly limited budget, to address the wrinkles and/or the sagging neck?

I'll obviously dress carefully, and nails and toenails have been done, all the things one would expect but I just feel really really old! I know that shouldn't matter but it does to me.

Still, there's probably not much I can do but if anyone's got any tips for the chronically poor, I'll have 'em!

There's nothing I can do about the extra stone I'm carrying at the moment of course but hey ho!

Yes Kids hoping for a good outcome for you ...and you never know your look in the train!

Firstly, apologies for my tardiness in replying to you lovely lot but it's all been a bit busy.

I can report that I did very well at the interview which was with two senior guys from the company, and got a call the very next day to say that they wanted to progress things with me and could I interview the next day with an even more senior person from their company as I'd be working with him and therefore he needed to feel we were on the same page etc. They even said, if he doesn't like you, we'll find something else for you (unreal right?!).

Well, I SMASHED that 2nd interview I tell ya, absolutely and totally smashed it! You know when an interview's going well and you just know that your answers and comments are exactly what they want to hear? That's how it went. It helped that it wasn't an interview as such, it was a conversation and an exchange of thoughts and beliefs (no chanting I promise!) - not the usual interview style questions which I just find so idiotic. I MUCH prefer having a conversation and someone hiring you because they think yes, she's got the right idea.

And if you'll believe it I have to do another bloody interview next week with someone else but so long as that goes well (plus references of course) then I'm in.

I am having major, major problems getting hold of my referees though; absolute nightmare. Both slightly older ladies one only works temporary now and again whilst the other has stepped down from her role, neither of them answering phone or emails - please let this not be the hurdle that I cannot get over. I'm working on it but it's bloomin' worrying. I've literally turned detective this last couple of days to try and track the women down but I've not been very successful.

Keep the good karmic vibes coming, I'm not quite there yet!

Well done! Keeping fingers crossed for you.

You probably thought (and I've no doubt, no doubt at all that you've been barely able to eat since I last posted on 13 August!) - I wonder if DoinIt got that job?

Well, after aceing a second interview (I NAILED it Grin) on the 15th I've been hovering and waiting around until today, a veritable bag of nerves thinking that's it, they've found someone better, when I was finally told I got the job!

47% pay rise can yo BELIEVE it?!!

They really really really really really like me (ha!) - now I'm panicking I'll be crapper than they think I am lol!!!!

Oh God it's such a relief. I won't have panic and live month to month in quite the same way.

Thank you all for your kind help on here. It was a positive boost to help me get those interviews right and for that I think you.

Excellent news. Make sure some of the pay rise is applied to your pension! (Early retiree here).

I came on to say that nivea in a blue pot pumps everything in a short term fix (not for repeated use). But I see you are winning at life now. Bossing it. Good luck!

DoinItForTheKids · 05/09/2018 22:35

Thank you - I like a bit of Nivea and have just started using a similar but different alternative suggested by a PP which is the under £ a big tub basic cream from Boots.

Nivea blue pot for sagging neck. Its cheap as chips!! Apply day and night. It helps mine look better. Get a cheap facial scrub to exfoliate, moisturiser on the top. Some nice barely there look make up for a fresh look. Always add a pop of colour when you use blusher. Crème to blend rather than cakey powder.

Put foundation on your neck and that contouring stuff under your chin.

Congratulations!
