Shops are full of it for A/W. It's so tired looking.

@rightknockered how do you layer a dress over jeans? Is it more of a tunic length?

BestIsWest · 11/08/2018 11:23

I have none but would lov3 some ankle boots.

CiderwithBuda · 11/08/2018 11:38

Love it. Am 54 and used to wear a leopard print top of my mum’s back in the 80s. It was very simple cotton and looked great tucked into black velvet jeans. Loved it. She gave it to me in the end as I wore it so much.

Have a scarf I love too. And have just ordered those Topshop sandals - thanks for link hannnnnno.

Will be looking for some more for autum/winter. Mint velvet have a lovely dress.

rightknockered · 11/08/2018 12:01

Mimi It is a midi length wrap dress, and you wear the dress over the top, jeans are in lieu of tights.

PenelopeShitStop · 11/08/2018 12:09

I have leopard print kitten heel, sock boots which people always admire. They're quite a dark greyish leopard though so more subtle.

starzig · 11/08/2018 12:22

It looks chesp on some people, lovely on others. I suit it.

MuttsNutts · 11/08/2018 12:29

Sorry to break this to you but if you think a fashion, any fashion, is tired and been done to death, it will be you that’s getting old, not whatever is in vogue...again.

All the bright young things will be loving a splash of leopard print for the first time whereas we’ve seen it, done it and bought the leopard print t-shirt too many times now.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 11/08/2018 12:31

But it's not an old trend that's been revived, it's been ubiquitous for years!

MuttsNutts · 11/08/2018 12:36

Yes, but only to us because we’ve been around and buying clothes for years and years...

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 11/08/2018 12:40

My dd (19) is aware. As she's been stealing borrowing my stuff for years the CF.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 11/08/2018 12:51

My DDs have both worn a bit of leopard in their time. They're 14 and 12.

I love leopard print, and have many, many items. I am happy to be a bit Bet Lynch!

bingohandjob · 11/08/2018 14:21

Judy - me, too! I feel great in leopard print - and I love seeing it on others.

RavenWings · 11/08/2018 18:16

Absolutely! It's not the leopard, like anything else it comes and goes in fashion. It's been vaguely popular for a while and now it's having a real moment. There are never any innovative changes in fashion, it just cycles - can't help it if you've been around for a few cycles already.

hannnnnnnxo · 11/08/2018 18:46

Yes I agree - I’m 21 and this is the first time I’ve been into the animal print trend. I have never owned anything leopard prior to the leopard sandals I mentioned earlier!

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 15/08/2018 09:53

Thanks to this thread I ended up buying this yesterday. I blame you all. Will wear with opaques when it gets chillier if DD doesn't lift it.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 15/08/2018 10:01

When it gets chillier.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 15/08/2018 10:03

Oops.

Floisme · 15/08/2018 10:18

Thank you but I am fully aware that I’m getting old. I’m still allowed to take an interest in fashion. I’m also old enough to know that it used to be more creative than it is now. And I miss that. I will cheerfully wear things the third or fourth time around but when I see designers and fashion writers parading something as hackneyed as animal print or check as if it’s new then I call taking the piss.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 15/08/2018 10:24

Agree that it shouldn't be paraded as new when it's anything but. Like music.

MaisyPops · 15/08/2018 10:30

I actually really like it... in small doses like a nice scarf. Blush One of my staple scarves is a soft leopard print.

I don't like garish leopard print or things really in your face though. The idea of it being everywhere is a bit much though.

thedevilinablackdress · 15/08/2018 11:48

It will not be compulsory.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 15/08/2018 11:58

@thedevilinablackdress Have you been to the shops recently?

OP posts:
Cakemonger · 15/08/2018 12:10

Agree MaisyPops - I only really like leopard print scarves. I had a nice one from Zara that was in shades of grey.

I think leopard print midi skirts can look great, especially with a plain t shirt, but I'm not brave enough to wear one, it's a bit too feminine for me.

PineapplePower · 15/08/2018 12:13

Maybe it’s just me, but fashion is so ugly at the moment. Prarie dresses, ruffles, animal prints, ugggghhhhhh...

At least I can hide away in midi wrap dresses until it’s moved on to something else
