If you're mid 30s, size 8/10, where do you shop and what do you wear?

Looking for ideas, opinions and inspiration, as I feel I'm dressing too 'young' for my age Blush

35, size 8.

H&M for basics like vest tops, TJ maxx for jeans and interesting tops onwont pay full price for, ASOS for easy browsing (hate having to go to a store)

tappitytaptap · 29/07/2018 07:49

Ooh I forgot about ASOS. I do get quite a bit from there, especially their maternity wear. Just got an amazing dress for a wedding for just over 30 quid. Much cheaper than the likes of Seraphine etc.

Honestly, if youre mid thirties and size 8/10 just wear whatever you want. The rest of us will look on jealously at whatever you choose Grin

Glitteryfrog · 29/07/2018 08:32

I wear bits of Primark
I also wear
All Saints
Label Lab - faux all saints from house of Fraser
Skinny jeans and teeshirts
Black leather biker jacket
Denim jacket
Faux leather leggings
Lace tops

I avoid all the floral printed - joules, fat face, monteray stuff.

I wear trainers (new balance or converse or vans) unless I'm at work

Currently I'm wearing
Fat face shorts and a billabong teeshirt (with a floral back) and birkenstocks. But I'm on holiday.

NeeChee · 29/07/2018 16:17

I'm 34 and a size 10, which is bigger than I want to be at the moment, but that's beside the point lol.
I like Fat Face, White Stuff and Sea Salt, but that is the kind of style I love, a bit boho/hippyish/indie. But I mostly shop at charity shops, I like hunting for a bargain.
I'm trying to give new styles and colours a go, things I would never have tried before. I feel like I need to move away from dressing like a student.
I'm liking the 90s revival at the moment, but I don't want to dress too young, although I can pass for much younger (and still get IDed for beer lol)

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/07/2018 16:52

Mainly at Karen Millen, Boden if it's an item I know will flatter my shape and All Saints for leather jackets but I only have two.

Sainsburys Tu for round the house stuff.

In the summer I wear a lot of little sundresses - mostly skater style- lots from ASOS - I think you can get away with short dresses still In your thirties if you have good legs - and can go a bit cheaper on the summer.
Spend more on winter clothes.
In the winter I like the skirt, jumper, tights and boots look.
I like some of bodens winter stuff for this, their summer stuff I think is too frumpy.
I also shop a lot at French connection - mostly in the sale. I like a lot of their cuts.
Also bits from oasis and warehouse.

Allegorical · 29/07/2018 18:56

Again the trick is to not go to long in there skirt to stop gong into frumpy territory.

nooddsocksforme · 29/07/2018 20:24

I am a bit -much- older than you but a size 8-10.there is a lovely Spanish shop - Eseoese which ships to the U.K. if you want something different
