Should I get lip fillers? Pic

I'm very self-conscience that my top lip is a lot smaller than my bottom lip. I've been considering fillers for a long time but I'm scared that it'll go wrong Sad has anyone else had them just to make them look fuller and did it go okay? Do you think it'd look better if I evened them out?

Top lips are normally smaller than bottom ones. Theres nothing wrong with them.

IncyWincyMouseRat · 23/07/2018 14:22

God no! Your lips are lovely! Bottom lips are normally fuller than top lips! Do not risk the trout pout!!

MargotLovedTom1 · 23/07/2018 14:23

They'll look ridiculous if you artificially inflate them. They look fine as they are.

Hideandgo · 23/07/2018 14:24

Are you nuts! Your lips are perfect. You’d look like a duck with the top one all swollen out of shape (to be blunt).

pennycarbonara · 23/07/2018 14:25

You have really full lips and I suspect everyone else is thinking how nice they look, some that they wish theirs were that way, and definitely not that they are uneven. (It may even be a bonus because it shows they are natural not filled.) I think it would be really easy to overdo fillers in your situation.

I didn't even know this was something that people might worry about! Possibly showing my age.

Liesmyparentstoldme · 23/07/2018 14:26

Top lips are generally smaller! You're lips are lovely and full. Definitely do not. You will look like a fish!

Fooferella · 23/07/2018 14:28

You have the kind of lips that people who get lip fillers want theirs to look like.

Lip fillers look terrible, even on Nicole Kidman those Hollywood stars who spend thousands to make it look 'natural' . Spend your money on something better.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 23/07/2018 14:30

OP, I suspect you know that you'll attract a thread full of comments giving you compliments and saying 'noooo don't get implants.'

There are clearly nothing wrong with your lips, so I doubt anyone will suggest that you get them.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 23/07/2018 14:31

There is

troodiedoo · 23/07/2018 14:32

Your lips are perfect! I would be very happy if mine looked like that. My top lip actually is thin, I've been dithering over fillers for ages, but I don't think I'll go through with it. Don't want to risk the slippery slope.

ShackUp · 23/07/2018 14:33

You really need to talk to someone about your body dysmorphia. That kind of bodily scrutiny isn't within the realms of normal.

adoggymama · 23/07/2018 14:36

You have really pretty shaped lips! I'm jealous Grin

MB134 · 23/07/2018 14:36

I guess I don't need them then, I thought they were out of proportion but I think I'm being over critical. Thanks everyone Smile

If you have lip fillers you’ll look like a woman who has had had lip fillers. Awful look when you have such fabulous natural lips

Coolhotsummer · 23/07/2018 14:52

You have much fuller lips than average so no.

MoltonSilver · 23/07/2018 15:23

God no. They're perfect. Don't touch them.

Fabpinky · 23/07/2018 15:35

You don’t NEED them done. But if you WANT them done then that’s different. I’ve had mine done I’ll try and attach a picture...

Theycouldhavechoseneve · 23/07/2018 18:16

They give the lip line a weird ridge appearance and make them look saucer like. Fabpinky your lips looked great before hand.

GeorgeIII · 23/07/2018 18:28

Fashion will change. All those people who plucked their eyebrows away 10/20 years ago are now out of fashion. I can see finer lips being fashionable before long.

Chicinwellies · 23/07/2018 22:31

Yes definately get it done. There you go, if that’s what you wanted to hear. I would pay however to get my lips made to look like yours now!

EdWinchester · 23/07/2018 22:33

Perfectly normal lips. I would only get it done if I had really thin lips.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 23/07/2018 22:43

There's been a rash of these threads lately. 'Oh look at this really flattering picture of me...do I look awful/thin-lipped/whatever.'

14:20:43 I'm very self-conscience that my top lip is a lot smaller than my bottom lip. I've been considering fillers for a long time... Do you think it'd look better if I evened them out

A dozen or so compliments from random internet strangers and bingo, just a few minutes later:

14:36:35 I guess I don't need them then, I thought they were out of proportion but I think I'm being over critical. Thanks everyone

That didn't take too long to sort out then, did it?

There really should be a section on MN for this sort of thing to save people shoehorning their desire for compliments into a post.

SleepFreeZone · 23/07/2018 22:54

fabpinky I think your after picture is really natural. Can I ask what exactly you had done? I agree with a PP that a lot of lip fillers look really unnatural and whilst I do want mine done I’m keen to make it look fresh not overdone.

Ofthread · 23/07/2018 23:00

Op you have really full lips that are probably one of your best features, which is why they are coming in for scrutiny by you. Don’t go down that path.

pennycarbonara · 23/07/2018 23:01

It's rude and unfair to assume people are just fishing for compliments. Some very good-looking people are insecure about their appearance.

An old friend, who was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen IRL, said once when we were in our mid twenties how depressed she was whenever she saw shop mannequins, because it was completely impossible ever to have a figure like that. Hers was better than any of those. It had never occurred to me before that she might be unhappy about her looks, but she was.
