Who's fat faces target market? What do we all think of it? Found myself getting the odd top there lately...

I think it’s to coast and boat people as Joules is to horse and country people.

I’ve had some things from them, sizing is generous but cuts can be a bit boxy.

oohyoudevilyou · 16/07/2018 08:52

I like Fat Face! I'm mid 40's, a size 14/16 and casual dresser (verging on scruffy). You'd probably describe my shape as "boxy" so the cut suits me! Grin I also have a lot of Mantaray (from Debenhams) and White Stuff in my wardrobe...and a shocking amount of Asda and Tesco stuff I've picked up on the weekly grocery run. Does this mean I've given up completely?!! Blush

VetOnCall · 16/07/2018 09:12

I think pretty much as CanineEnigma says. I live at the coast in Devon and FF is very popular down here and in Cornwall. I like a lot of their stuff, not the ditsy flowery/paisley prints, but the plainer basics are great. I have the cotton vest tops in 5 different colours and bought this hoody in the teal colour last week, it'll be great for dog walks at the beach when the days get cooler: www.fatface.com/women/clothing/sweatshirts-hoodies/organic-cotton-heritage-zip-thru-hoody/928964.html?cgid=women-clothing-sweatshirts-and-hoodies&dwvar_928964_color=navy#start=1

They do some nice jeans and shorts too, I have the short denim shorts and a couple of pairs of the short chino shorts. Also have tan leather ankle boots and grey suede Chelsea boots - both of which are really comfortable and good quality. Pyjamas, scarves and socks are great too!

CatsRule · 16/07/2018 14:44

I like Fat Face too. I'm 40 and not even sure I have a style! I live in a large city so I don't fit with the coast or country description although given the choice it'd be coast! I also like Monsoon and Laura Ashley but I buy most of it on eBay.

Oly5 · 16/07/2018 16:22

I hate their prints but their basics are brilliant - jeans and t shirts and Breton tops. I think the quality is really good

Celestie · 16/07/2018 16:51

It's aimed at the middle class, 40-ish market who holiday on the British coast.

Meepmoop · 16/07/2018 16:56

I live in Cornwall and own lots of fat face I'm 27 though

DianaT1969 · 16/07/2018 16:58

If you like Fatface, check out Breakburn too

ErrolTheDragon · 16/07/2018 17:06

My teenage DD has quite a few fat face shirts. I've got a couple of things. We neither know nor care about 'target markets' tbh.

Jonbb · 16/07/2018 17:11

I won't buy ff any more, the quality isn't so good and the fit boxy. They used to be good for surf wear and sweats but changed their market somewhere along the way Confused

Shadowboy · 16/07/2018 17:11

I’m mid 30s and like fat face

foxtiger · 16/07/2018 17:12

I love all their stuff but beware, it does leak colour a LOT in the first few washes!

MyWaterButtIsEmpty · 16/07/2018 17:14

I'm mid 30s and thinking about it, all the FF stuff I have is ideal for a UK coast holiday Grin I have a nice summer dress, some light tops, and a great pair of denim shorts.

Branleuse · 16/07/2018 17:14

i like some fat face stuff. They always do a style of summer dress every year that suits me well, but then again, a lot of their stuff is too shapeless for someone curvy like me, but

PickAChew · 16/07/2018 17:17

I have loads of lovely shirts from fatface.

Nice and long and definitely perfectly boxy though also with nice generous darts so they don't gape at the boob! All in lovely cotton, too.

PickAChew · 16/07/2018 17:17

I do live near the coast.

Judydreamsofhorses · 16/07/2018 21:24

It’s not my cup of tea, but one of my friends buys lots from there and it looks great on her. Her other fave is White Stuff, so I see the two brands as similar. To me the clothes look washed out and a bit shapeless, even when they’re brand new.

Ellapaella · 16/07/2018 21:47

I live on the coast but the nearest FatFace is 8 miles away in the city centre..
I do like FF for some things but often I think it doesn't look as nice on me as it does on the hanger. Just something about the cut of the clothes and the way they hang isn't quite right.
The kids clothes are fantastic though and brilliant quality. My boys have a lot of stuff from there and it lasts for years.

Laughteronthewing · 17/07/2018 07:36

I wear thier stuff in the school holidays quite a bit when I'm out with the kids as it's quite practical.

The floaty stuff they do was great when I was pregnant and postnatal, they used to be very good if you were an apple shape. Some of the tunic tops lasted me until almost my due date.

PirateMermaid · 17/07/2018 07:42

40, live on the south coast, spend a lot of time on the water and have a lot of their basics and plain items - I’m not keen on their prints. I don’t like WhiteStuff at all though!

Alwayscommuting · 17/07/2018 08:00

I'm 25 and wish I lived near the coast, I like their plain basic tops, the material is lovely and soft and I like the colours.

Mitsouko67 · 17/07/2018 09:05

Have started shopping there on annoying relatives recommendation, I like her style. Rarely shop for clothes but was there at weekend got a hat, denim capri trousers and a nice dress all for summer hols. Happy with my purchases. Normally wear dresses but the jeans are comfy stretchy and cute.

Last winter got lovely blanket scarf and ribbed tights in the sale. Wore the scarf all winter.

Used to buy italian designer but have now happily given up the ghost. Fat face is good for now. Things fit and look OK and the price is right.

StaffiesAndPonies · 17/07/2018 09:13

I refuse to buy from Fat Face because I have a fat face and take their name as a personal insult. Grin

soulrider · 17/07/2018 13:48

I like their pyjama bottoms because they have pockets. They seem to have gone the same way as whitestuff in charging high prices for synthetics when everything used to be natural fibres on most other stuff though

EmmaStone · 17/07/2018 15:01

I find their clothes quite depressing - sludgy colours, frumpy prints, shapeless cuts (and not Cos shapeless that then looks great on). I don't suit those muted colours at all, so that particularly puts me off.

I was bought a voucher from there back in December and haven't been able to find anything I wanted. Funnily enough, today I've ordered their denim shorts and used my voucher, figuring what can go wrong with denim shorts...
