Any tips and tricks for getting rid of those unsightly underarm shadows (despite shaving😫)?

Following- afraid I have no wisdom to offer but it would love to know the answer too!

Plural · 05/07/2018 08:35

My lumea has got rid of that. I'm a wimp and hate the buzz of it but when I use it for maybe 3-4 times over the summer it gets rid of the shadow

Branleuse · 05/07/2018 08:38

dw about it. noone cares

Gwenhwyfar · 07/07/2018 12:03

Hair grows really quickly there. I have stubble by the end of the day, but so what? It's quite normal.

LimboLuna · 07/07/2018 12:10

I always wonder how people on tv manage to have nothing there. Even when i shave you can still see something

Limbo - they wax or use another type of hair removal that takes the hair from the root. Probably very painful.

nothingwittyhere · 07/07/2018 14:45

I use Veet cream and never have a shadow. Think you only get it from shaving.

sue51 · 07/07/2018 14:49

I use an epilator, gets rid of the lot.

BIWI · 07/07/2018 14:52

Waxing. It weakens the hair, and you don't end up with such coarse hairs. Definitely no shadow in my pits!

putonyourdancingshoes · 07/07/2018 15:07

I know lots of you don't care but I just find it so dark and almost green like on me. 😫 I will try the feet cream as I'm too scared to do the waxing /epilating. Thanks tho 👍🏼

Epilator. Pulls them out so you don't have that dark root showing through your skin. I also do a light dusting of talc over my antiperspirant after it's dried.

sue51 · 07/07/2018 15:12

Honestly, its such a small area and only takes a minute or two with an epilator.

Gwenhwyfar · 07/07/2018 15:30

Epilating my legs was unbearable pain. I'm definitely not trying it on my underarms.

DramaAlpaca · 07/07/2018 15:33

I epilate and don't get this.

Epilating gets less painful the more you do it, and the hairs eventually give up & don't bother growing back.

Alicatz66 · 07/07/2018 15:45

I don't care .. but if you do .. I'd get waxed at a salon .. it won't be as good at home

BIWI · 07/07/2018 17:02

Actually the results at home are just as good - as long as you've got a good mirror and can get close enough to make sure you've removed all the hairs!

I'm not going to the salon to pay for waxing every time my armpits need doing. That would cost a fortune.

bluebellation · 07/07/2018 17:08

Another fan of epilating here. I used to have a permanent stubble shadow but after a few years of epilating the hairs barely grow - I only have to do my pits every couple of months.

totallyliterally · 07/07/2018 17:18

Epilator sorted mine. I have very dark thick hair and always had a shadow. But now they are normal skin colour.

MoltonSilver · 07/07/2018 17:59

Ipl worked for me.

NameChangeUni · 07/07/2018 18:30

Wax - it’s not that painful and is fairly easy to do on yourself. You’ll find that just after a few sessions, your underarm hair will be much finer and sparse (i did)

For the dark skin, try Glycolic Acid by the ordinary. It isn’t designed for skin lightening, but it actually really works! I haven’t used it for a while as I have sore skin on my underarm, and I can definitely see the difference now that I have stopped. It actually works

LuMarie · 07/07/2018 18:34

Waxing!

Honestly, it's done in a second and so beyond worth it. Go to a salon the first time, after waxing the hair grows back really slowly, its really soft and after a while it's not as dense. Super worth it and doesn't hurt, all a myth!

LadyoftheChateau · 07/07/2018 22:34

Epilating for sure. I have thick dark hair but none under my arms at all anymore.

Excusemyfrench · 07/07/2018 22:38

If you care enough to post here, man up and wax. It hurts for a split second and then its over and you'll get rid of it. Its simple really
