Hi all, can I wear this dress to my friend’s rustic wedding? I love the dress but is it too long and white? m.asos.com/hope-and-ivy/hope-ivy-wrap-front-high-low-maxi-dress-with-floral-embroidery/prd/8908366?iid=8908366&custref=3024114&affid=14564&channelref=email&orderref=338685985

If you’re the bride and wearing it for your getting-ready-the-morning-of-your-wedding photos then sure, go ahead.

Otherwise obviously not.

About 10 years ago a friends new girlfriend rocked up to a wedding we were all at in a white dress - people were a little taken aback and there were a fair few jokes about it. Then ironically got married to said friend a few years later, went total bridezilla and had a really strict dress code/colour preferences for guests clothing!

I'm guessing you got the message by now OP anyway! Totally agree that Free People have got some incredible dresses this season - if I had a wedding to go to/the budget and the body I have none of these things then I''d be all over them..

Imagine if blokes were like this though, 'Christ Dave, I can't believe you wore a suit to my wedding, you knew I was wearing one!' Grin

Hopefully one day we can finally move past the idea that a bride needs dibs on the colour white. Cos really it makes no logical sense.

I wouldn't mind if someone wore that to my wedding, and I'm getting married next year! I think it's a lovely dress and not bridal at all!
