Disappointed with botox

I had it done two weeks ago in my forehead. Pleased with the result, but my brows have dropped, so i look like i've no eyelids. It's given me a kind of angry look itms. i'm thinking she must have injected too near to the brow bone or possibly just too much botox? I hate the thought of looking like this for the next 3 months or so. Anyone else had this?

Poor you. I had botox a couple of days ago. The clinic made me an appt for a 2 week review to check how it looked. Does your clinic offer the same? Also, they warned of eye droop but said there was medication that would counteract it (not fully)
Could you go back and see if it can be corrected?

Namechange128 · 11/06/2018 18:01

My sister got this - apparently it's called being 'spocked'. She went back to complain and they did improve it (though also took more Botox so she was quite frozen for a bit). She looks great now, though the good people seem to cost a lot, so I'm too hard up and too chicken to try!

QueenOfMyWorld · 11/06/2018 18:01

I always ask the clinician to make sure I get some slight movement in the arches of my brows so they don't drop

princesstiasmum · 11/06/2018 18:02

I have had it, makes you look like an angry lion, kind of
If the eyelids droop, you can get some drops, but it takes time for them to work, but if its your forehead there is nothing you can do
Was the person who administered the botox also a prescriber, if not shes illegal, and if so she should know what she is doing,
Botox is a prescription drug and should be prescribed to suit each person
You should also have a 2 week review, but i doubt it can be corrected.mine couldnt
Where did you have it done?a Drs .nurse,or alon?
So sorry his has happened to you,

princesstiasmum · 11/06/2018 18:03

Should say Salon,[not alon]

SleepFreeZone · 11/06/2018 18:05

Was she very experienced? I find withborox you really need to opt for experience as otherwise you can end up with a Joker look which I see very often, even with celebs!

Pleasebeafleabite · 11/06/2018 18:10

If you have heavy browlines smoothing the forehead results in the eyebrows dropping and hence eyelid bags. Spocking is different and arises where the muscle at the side is left active so the brow appears to pull up. Easy to fix with an extra injection

When I have mine I have less around the middle of my brows and some put in under the eyebrows to raise them. I still get a bit of droop though but I have very heavy gordon ramsay lines to start with

Go back for a check up and see if they can recommend anything.

Even if not the droop starts to lift within a month or so once movement starts to return

XiCi · 11/06/2018 18:14

Yes, think this is quite common with forehead botox. You should be booked in for a 2 week review. She will be able to inject into the browbone to lift the lids back to normal

BitOfFun · 11/06/2018 18:24

I tried to get away with not paying for my Botox by slipping out early. I was caught though, and taken to court. Needless to say, I showed no emotion during sentencing.

moonoflove · 11/06/2018 19:01

I had it done at a salon by a nurse, it's like my eyelids aren't there any more, would that be the forehead then? Do you think i'll have to wait for the botox to completely wear off or will this bit recover before that.

moon did the nurse only inject in to the forehead or did she do your ‘scowl’ too? If she only did your forehead then this is why you’ve dropped as the frontalis (forehead) muscle is an elevator so when you relax it with Botox it causes a drop. I only ever inject the forehead together with the scowl to prevent this happening.

When is your review appointment? She should be able to try to correct you?

moonoflove · 11/06/2018 22:28

Which bit do you mean by the "scowl" secretsout?......she never gave me a follow up appointment, just said to ring in a couple of weeks if i'm not happy with it. But i definitely don't want any more botox in me right now.

OP posts:
XiCi · 11/06/2018 22:32

She will probably only need to use a small amount to correct it so I would call and make a review appointment as soon as possible. If you don't,, you'll have to wait for it to wear off which could be months

princesstiasmum · 12/06/2018 00:10

When i went for my review, she put more in but high up,made it worse
Maybe as others have said if the womn knows what shes doing she can reverse it, but sounds like she doesnt,or it wouldnt have happened

moonoflove · 12/06/2018 00:25

Thanks for all the replies, i'm going to phone them tomorrow and see what they say. The nurse who did it only goes into the salon when theres an appointment, she doesn't actually work there. I think i might have to put up with looking like an angry gorilla till it wears off. Sad

OP posts:
whereiscaroline · 12/06/2018 00:35

They should have offered you a review appointment by default so they can make any little corrections if needed.

Definitely call them. I was told that Spockies can be corrected but the opposite (droopers) are a bit trickier. I'm sure there should be something they can do.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 12/06/2018 00:35

I have had this happen, I found it hard to put my eye make up on, but don’t worry that actually wore of pretty quickly, probably in about a month your eyes will return to normal, the next round of Botox I had she injected higher on my forehead and also used less units and the result was much better, no angry gorilla eyebrows!

Birdsgottafly · 12/06/2018 04:26

I've had this happen and within a couple of weeks, I looked OK. A couple of weeks later, I looked how I wanted to.

They should always discuss any possibility of another part of your face looking different.

For instance, when I have my Lips done, I need a small amount of Botox on my Marionette Lines, as well.

They usually do a package price, to cover this.

moonoflove · 12/06/2018 05:30

That's very reassuring Bettyboo and birds, i hope it's the same for me, it's just so weird when i do my eye makeup, i hate it. I'll be so happy when they go back to normal.

moon 99% of practitioners inject your scowl or 11’s when doing the forehead as this prevents the forehead muscle from dropping.

From your description you don’t have ‘spocking’. This is a totally different problem.

So what did she actually inject?

You should always have a review booked in.

You say you don’t want anymore Botox putting in but you actually do...to correct your problem.

Do you have a pic you’d be willing to share?

princesstiasmum · 12/06/2018 13:36

I agree that putting more botox in is fine as long as its in the right place, mine was made worse by injecting more,
Obviously in the wrong place
Where on the forehead should more be injected to correct the drooping

janknitti · 12/06/2018 14:23

This happened to me too - it’s a very odd sensation when you can feel your eyelashes on your eyebrows because they have dropped. But this was corrected at my 2 week review as other people have said

LuMarie · 12/06/2018 14:38

I had it at a salon with a nurse once and a doctor at a clinic every other time. No problems but the difference in knowledge and competency of a nurse in a salon and a doctor in clinic was night and day.

A doctor explained the dropping thing to me, it can be fixed, it usually is due to the person doing a poor job. They should have booked you in for a review to make sure you are happy with the results.

Honestly, if you can afford it, I would go to a doctor at a clinic to have it fixed. Otherwise yes go back and if there is a supervising doctor there maybe ask for them to do it.

It can and should definitely be corrected, don't worry! It is corrected using more botox, but it's not the whole thing again, it's a couple of specific places, I think near the eyebrows.

Love botox, I have no shame in telling people I have it done. Usually I volunteer the information every time someone says I look young, maybe defeats the purpose, but it's true and people are curious for themselves!

How often does everyone have it redone?

moonoflove · 12/06/2018 15:21

I think if it's eyelid droop it can be corrected, but if it's actually the eyebrows dropped the best thing is to wait it out. I know it might be corrected with a small amount of botox, if done in the exact right place it could rectify it, but i think i've lost my trust in the nurse who did it tbh. I'm frightened it might make it worse.
