If you use them could you tell me where you buy them from please.
Are you pleased with the results and did they cause sensitivity?

Don't do it. They ruined my gums and I stopped.
If you want whiter teeth talk to a dentist.
The strips I had left over were handy for removing nicotine stains on my fingers.

exhaustedbylife · 17/05/2018 23:34

I can't afford the dentist at the moment and was looking for a quick fix for a wedding I'm attending in August

Horrific. There is a reason they are difficult to find here. They aren’t legal to sell.
You will get a few people who say there are amazing. However. Would you rather turn up to the wedding with bleeding gums, and not be able to have a glass of wine because your whole mouth is so sore, and not able to eat the sorbet/ice cream or drink a coffee because of sensitivity.

Or. Would you rather enjoy the wedding. No one will be looking at your teeth. Try a good regime. Flossing. Brushing with a good tooth paste. Mouth wash. Take a bit more care.
But don’t buy those bloody strips

AtrociousCircumstance · 17/05/2018 23:42

Charcoal toothpastes can remove stains apparently. Saw some on amazon with glowing reviews.

Mollypolly2610 · 18/05/2018 01:10

I used charcoal and it didn’t make much difference. Now they say that charcoal removes the enamel! I’m not sure anything you can buy here whitens your teeth apart from going to the dentist (which I can’t afford).

Monty27 · 18/05/2018 01:16

Exactly that Molly
Don't mess around with your teeth OP.

Start oil pulling it will do wonders

Paintbox · 18/05/2018 06:34

I saw something on tv with dentists saying oil pulling is rubbish, charcoal is rubbish, home kits are rubbish. You need proper bleach to whiten teeth and this is only really at the dentist. I have no experience of crest strips but they seem too harsh based on feedback on here’s

I used Crest whitestrips before my wedding 11 years ago and they were excellent. I keep meaning to use them again but there are so many variations now that it's quite confusing choosing one.

dudsville · 18/05/2018 06:46

I use them every now and again. No problems at all. But my teeth are basically white and I use them for a boost, which I think is the intention, not for major stain removal.

IStillMissBlockbuster · 18/05/2018 06:47

I bought Crest white strips when I was on holiday in America. You're not supposed to put them on your gums Confused. They worked fantastically for me. I got lots of compliments which I did not expect.

Housewife2010 · 18/05/2018 06:49

Dudsville Where did you get yours from?

dudsville · 18/05/2018 06:51

I travel to America every few years. They aren't legal to buy here.

MaggieFS · 18/05/2018 06:53

DH uses them and has never had any problems. Gets them in the US or asks friends to buy them when they go.

They're not licensed here because dentists objected... funny that as they'd lose their lucrative whitening business...

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/05/2018 07:06

I tried them and my teeth hurt within seconds.

You can’t mess about with teeth. You only get one set.

I use eucryl powder now twice a week now instead & add hydrogen peroxide to mouthwash at night to gently whiten any stains I’ve picked up.

SpecialAgentNobody · 18/05/2018 07:08

I used them and found the results disappointing. The sensitivity they caused was agonising. I wouldn’t use them again.

helacells · 18/05/2018 08:47

Oil pulling lightened my teeth significantly and tightened my gums no more loose teeth don't knock it till you try it.

exhaustedbylife · 18/05/2018 09:01

What is oil pulling?

I but the American ones from Cali white and have used them for years without any problems. They are brilliant. I discussed the use of them with my dentist and she said they were fine and she uses them too! They’ve never caused any gum problems as they don’t touch your gums. I get sensitivity with them but also get sensitivity with the bleach I used to use with gum shields from my dentist. All bleach causes sensitivity.

exhaustedbylife · 18/05/2018 17:55

@Namechangeforakitchen
Do you have a link from where you buy them please?

Ofthread · 18/05/2018 18:03

I got these, they were good: www.boots.com/nano-intensive-whitening-strips-%2828-strips%29-10231952

LadyOfTheCanyon · 18/05/2018 18:04

I get Crest whitestrips when I go to the US and use a set about every three months to keep on top of things. I've had no problems at all ( started about seven years ago) and have probably lightened 5 or so shades in that time. I chatted to my dentist about my useage and he was basically "meh... it's not far off what I would do for you for £500" ( I love my dentist.)

Namechangeforakitchen · 18/05/2018 19:11

I get them from here link

Ellapaella · 18/05/2018 22:35

I'm interested in crest strips myself but for those here who use them did you see dentist first for a check up and get any underlying dental issues sorted first or did you just go for it?

Namechangeforakitchen · 19/05/2018 08:17

No I see my dentist every 6 months anyway so I'm sure when I first used them it wouldn't have been that far away from my last or next check up.
