Am I too square for this dress?

I love it, but I’m not exactly hourglass in it. I have a bit of monthly bloat just now, but that aside, am I just all wrong for this dress? I’m trying to tell myself the camera adds ten pounds and I genuinely think in the flesh it looks slightly better. But that’s maybe literally wishful thinking

Be brutal.

I prefer the first dress. The back is very pretty.

icklekid · 27/04/2018 06:15

I really love the first dress especially the back and think you have the figure to pull it off. But I think you have to be comfortable and happy wearing it. The second dress is fine but I think the large print puts me off.

snowsun · 27/04/2018 06:39

The first dress would look better with nude shoes.
I feel black is to stark and clashes.

The second dress is pretty but the dresses are for different occasions. The first is more formal.

Okay, I’ve bought these shoes and a wrap. How does it look? I’m sticking with dress; square or not square.

The bag is kind of pewter? Does it go??

The cream and pink one has some staining on it which I’m trying to run out, but that’s looking unlikely!

Much better than the black shoes. I prefer the pale pink/grey/cream bag. Think it pulls it all together :)

creampie · 29/04/2018 14:28

Yes, much better. That looks perfect

Onlyhavetwohands · 29/04/2018 14:33

Yes lovely. Like the shoes and the pink and cream bag.

YourVagesty · 29/04/2018 14:35

That looks gorgeous OP, genuinely.

PugwallsSummer · 29/04/2018 14:46

Pink & cream bag :)

mimibunz · 29/04/2018 14:48

I think you look fabulous but the black shoe is too dark. Definitely go for a nude if you can.

Dwellerfromunderthesink · 29/04/2018 15:14

I have a ‘looking square’ thing and can truly say you don’t look square😀. I think it looks fine and works better with the black shoes. The colour suits you too

Dwellerfromunderthesink · 29/04/2018 15:16

I do agree that though the shape and style of the black shoe works well, a nude tone would complement the dress very well.

Snog · 29/04/2018 15:43

You look fab, go with the second bag option!

justaweeone · 29/04/2018 16:09

You look fab
Second bag is best

Twounder1 · 29/04/2018 16:14

I think you look lovely

indisdress · 29/04/2018 16:19

I’ve pretty much just killed the second bag trying to get the marks off it 😭

Any suggestions of another are welcome, ASAP! The cheaper the better, as I’ve gone over budget as it is.

personally I think it would look better if the waist was a little higher and it was more fitted round the waist

How tall are you OP? If you are short (not sure if you are, suspect you would look curvier if you were) the that might explain the waist on the dress being slightly low.

Anyway, you don't look square, you look very elegant and I love the accessories you've bought.

indisdress · 29/04/2018 19:28

Count I’m just under 5ft 2. The dress would look better with the waist a couple of inches higher, I know. Shopping life would be so much easier if I was 3 inches taller Sad

These are simple and in lots of colours. Cheap and amazon prime if you have it.

saison4 · 29/04/2018 20:39

what is the occasion? The 2nd dress definitely looks nicer on you but the first one looks more dressy (wedding etc).

saison4 · 29/04/2018 20:41

ignore me - just saw its for s wedding. the first one is better for that.
