It really is a miracle cream...

My DS has ocd. He’s had a lot of treatment, over the years and we know that the next step is inpatient treatment. The is no unit locally so, he’d need to be in The Maudsley (London) but he has to wait til he’s 18. He’s 17 now.

Recently, he’s taken to scrubbing his skin with just about anything he can get his hands on. I removed anything potentially abrasive but, even a soft facecloth can be a weapon in the wrong hands.

He came to me on Saturday morning and said his skin was itchy and sore. “Where abouts?” I asked. “Well, all over, really”. I asked him to show me and was shocked to see there were big (side plate sized) parts of his body which had no skin at all. Groin, back of knees and inside elbows. He flatly refused the gp but agreed to my putting cream on. So Sat evening, Sun morning & evening, same Monday and this morning I slathered it on. This am, whole areas of skin that were burnt looking with the skin broken and bleeding, are pretty much healed.

I know it’s neither stylish nor particularly beautiful but AVEENO CREAM with COLLOIDAL OATS is a miracle formula. Better than anything the doctor gave me in the past and though it’s expensive for the amount I need to use am and pm, it works.

Just saying... 😊

I wear the standard cream (not specifically for the face or anything), morning and night. It's far better (and much cheaper) than the Clinique moisturiser I used to use and my chin spots seem to be a thing of the past - though I credit the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + I use on my chin and nose for that particular miracle.

Mine is the Aveeno cream that comes in a box, rather than the daily moisturising lotion.

So glad your DS found something to help his skin Suki

I've posted before about Aveeno, my DD (15) has very sensitive skin , a while ago she had really painful red areas on her face. She was very self conscious , the red areas were at both sides of her mouth. She couldn't put make-up on them, it went cakey and looked worse, and they were painful for her to move her face Sad - she was in a state poor girl.

Out of despiration, (I was thinking only a steroid cream would calm the redness but I didn't want that on her face) I bought her Aveeno and it calmed her face almost overnight.

It is good to know there is something that works Smile

I use the standard lotion in the green top container on my face.

I’ve literally just it some on my very dry hands! It is amazing stuff: we got the ‘baby eczema’ version for DS and it was marvellous.

just put it..

I can use the lotion on my face but I find the cream a bit too heavy. My DS gets the cream in a big pump from the Dr, although I wonder if they may have stopped it now. You can buy the US range of Aveeno products on eBay/Amazon.
Glad it's helped your DS suki
