Do these teeth need fixed? Pic included, am probably mad!

I’ve attached a picture of my teeth.

I used to like my teeth, but they’re moving as I move into late thirties 🙁

The top 2 are starting to stick out.

How noticeable is it to you and if you owned these teeth would you get them fixed?

Well they’re fine to my eye....

As to why they are moving, have your wisdom teeth appeared and that’s led to them shifting?

I had a ton of orthodontics as a teen, my grandfather was an orthodontist which led to him insisting my front teeth needed straightening (which they did, massively). Roll on 2 decades and mine have shifted again and he is adamant it’s because my wisdoms have since erupted.

I would probably not have thought anything in particular about your teeth if you hadn’t asked, but now that you mention it, I can see the issue. It’s not major and there are people with far less attractive teeth!

But depends on (a) how much it is bothering you or affecting your confidence, and (b) how much money you have to spend on things like braces?

I had a similar issue with one of my top front teeth sticking out a bit. Other people always claim they didn’t notice it, but it bothered me, so when I saw a Groupon deal locally for fixed clear braces (“six month smile”), I decided to go for it. I’ve had them on for about 2.5 months and the offending tooth has moved back into place, and the others are all perfectly straight too. Can’t wait to have the braces removed and am really pleased I went for it. Hope that helps.

If you aren’t happy with them go to see a dentist or orthodontist. You should be able to have a free consultation if you look around. Six month smiles or similar might be good for you.

I also wouldn’t think anything of it however if they are moving it sounds like you could do with a brace and I would definitely be investigating that.

They look fine to me, however, have you had a check up recently ?

From experience, do it. You won't regret it.

You need to have an examination to see why your teeth are moving, if it’s gum issues you would need to have that sorted before you would be considered for orthodontics.

My parents paid for very expensive braces and so on when I was younger.

Now everything is going South again over the years. But fk it, everything is fine and holidays come first! lol.

I actually think that slightly off kilter teeth like my own are rare and therefore fine. Everyone else seems to have luminous gnashers now!

Too much pressure to conform. The cosmetic dentists are delighted of course. Ultra white teeth look so false to me, you just know it isn't reality. But each to their own I suppose.

Yours are similar to mine and I really want to get mine fixed so yes I would.

They look fine but yes I'd probably have them fixed.
Saying that one tooth of mine keeps twisting around and although i want it fixed i just never get round to it which makes me think it doesnt bother me as much as I think it does sometimes.

Go and see an orthodontist/cosmetic dentist and make sure they check your wisdom teeth and take x-rays. If it were me then personally I’d want to get them straightened (in fact my teeth did look a bit like that until I had them ‘fixed’ in my teens) and since you say they’ve moved recently I’d be worried your wisdom teeth are causing problems and it will only get worse, and possibly painful, if left untreated.

For cosmetic reasons I would get them ‘fixed’ either with a brace or you could get composite added to your existing teeth so they are all aligned.

Only you can say if you should get them fixed or not. I had braces in my late 30’s-I had a small gap and an overjet. People were surprised that I wanted them straightened as they looked fine to them. It wasn’t really until after the treatment that I realised just how much they bothered me. I’m so much more confident now. I just wish I’d done it sooner.

Don’t be scared of the process or embarrassed about having braces as an adult. You soon get over it.

You need to find out why your teeth are moving first. Have you been to the hygienest recently?

My teeth moved due to a serious gum issue that my NHS dentist had not told me about. I ended up with a ton of gum disease treatment before I could even consider braces. My gums had to be stable for 3 months before I then had Invisalign for 9 months.

I like your teeth - they look healthy but most of all real.

Personally, I am fed up with the trend for whiter than the whites of your eyes dazzling tombstones. IMO it just doesn't look natural.

Your teeth suit your face and I have to say your skin is flawless- absolutely beautiful. You look great.

I think they look fine, but I completely understand. My teeth started to shift about when my wisdom teeth came through. Had them out even though x-ray showed that they weren't touching the others. Since they've come out, my teeth have shifted even more, particularly my bottom row. One of the teeth is slightly overlapping one of the others, making it look a bit darker, even though it isn't. My dentist said that teeth start moving about in late 20s/early 30s and they're not sure why. Fuck knows. I hate it though. Always had nice teeth, now I feel that I don't.

I think they look lovely and white, but the very front ones do look more prominent and if it was me, I would probably want them fixed.

My dentist said that it’s a myth that wisdom teeth shift your teeth and it’s actually just your jaw growing and teeth move around anyway but because it tends to happen at the same age as the wisdom teeth coming in then people think they’re linked.

I really like your teeth OP

I think they look lovely...I like teeth with character...I actively dislike teeth that look like they’ve been pulled in and controlled (and overly whitened!)
