Looking old and haggard at 42 how can give myself a boost

Spent my 20's and early 30's being told i looked like a teenager but the last few years I've aged dramatically. I'm exactly the same weight as I was at 20 but when I told someone I had a big birthday coming up 2 years ago they presumed i meant 50! I have so many frown lines and wrinkles under my eyes. I went for some highlights recently hoping they would give me a youthful boost but no one has even noticed. I used to be able to put makeup on and feel good but now I feel like a clown. My mum at 70 looks younger.Anyone felt the same and done something that has given them a youth boost?

I stopped caring what men think. Gives you loads of time to enjoy your life.

Grin, it does sound grim when you see it as a list but it really takes no time when you’re in a routine. Great that you ‘look 38’ with so little effort, not everyone is so lucky!

Its the diet to be fair, mainly.

It’s delicious, but each to their own! Smile I do eat chocolate, puddings on occasion, and I drink naice wine and Champagne etc but in moderation and weekends only!

Following with enthusiasm!

Does the menopause really age you?

@StringerThan. I thought it was myth and legend but yes, menopause ages you. I eat the same and actually do more exercise now and yet I have gained weight quietly over the past 2/3 years. I have a dog now so walk and hour and a half every day, rain or shine and cycle every day (only about 30 mins) but I do it Mon to Fri. I weigh a stone more than I did at “my heaviest” in my 30’s and 40’s. I’m nearly 56 and despair at times. I don’t smoke but have occasional 🍷 and frankly, don’t know what else I can do.
