Misceller water

Can someone please explain this to me even though I think I’ve spelled it wrong. I am old and have always used eye make up remover, cleanser and then toner. Does this misceller water do all of the above? Do I only need one product now?

It removes all make up, including mascara and lipstick. It's great. Still need a toner though

Mollypolly2610 · 12/04/2018 01:25

Thanks will be trying it now

The simple brand one is crap at getting mascara and eyeliner off

Ostagazuzulum · 12/04/2018 03:24

Bioderma one is amazing!

Notwellbitch · 12/04/2018 03:26

The Garnier one with the pink lid is good.

IheartCaptainHolt · 12/04/2018 03:34

The Aldi one is great

DianaT1969 · 12/04/2018 03:45

This is my favourite one. Oil infused and citrus.

I was suckered in once but poured it down the sink.

Why? Did it cause your skin to break out? I see the makeup and dirt on the pad. My skin feels clean and no residue. It's also handy for travel when you don't have access to water.
It seems so gentle, that I can't imagine a reason you'd need to pour it down the drain.

Do you wear make up? If so, what do you remove it with?

KirstenRaymonde · 12/04/2018 08:19

Micellar water is basically just water with a bit of oil suspended in it, plus some other things like vitamins depending on which one you buy. That’s it.

I use Superdrug’s own brand one, it’s cheap and great for getting make up off as the oil cuts through the make up (oil in general is good for getting make up off) and dirt, but you want something else after it - a conditioning cleanser, or a glycolic acid toner, maybe both depending on your skin, to get the oil out of your pores and clear the skin completely.

Floisme · 12/04/2018 08:26

It stung and made my face itch Diana. I do have sensitive skin and I'm normally very careful about what I use so it was silly of me really. But there was a lot of hype about it plus it was branded for sensitive skin and I fell for it.

I take off make up with almond oil and a flannel.

Mulberrysilk · 12/04/2018 08:27

Its good at taking make up off but you still need to cleanse afterwards.

Sparkletastic · 12/04/2018 08:31

It's alright for a first cleanse to remove eye makeup / lipstick but definitely needs to be followed with something more substantial for the second cleanse. I wouldn't use it as a toner either - no active ingredients that exfoliate.

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 12/04/2018 08:33

Floisme some sting me too but I use the simple one everyday with no problems. I also have no issue getting eye makeup off with it

silverpenguin · 12/04/2018 08:34

I have sensitive skin too and I find it doesn't react well to it. Which is a shame because it's so easy!

SporkInTheToaster · 12/04/2018 08:38

Micellar waters don’t work for me either. Leave me feeling tight, itchy and looking red and bumpy. Not good.

I oil cleanse with a hot cloth and use lactic acid to exfoliate. If I’m wearing heavy eye makeup, I remove it with Clarins biphasic eye makeup remover before I oil cleanse. My skin care routine works for me, my skin is calm, balanced and happy.

IAmMatty · 12/04/2018 08:38

I used the garnier one but it was not good at removing eye make up, and then I broke out in spots.

Changed to a cleansing milk and it's much easier on my skin.

HugMeBringItIn · 12/04/2018 08:41

I can’t use Micellar Water either although I’ve only ever tried the Garnier one. Makes my skin sore and really flaky. Took weeks to look normal again after I used it last time.
The Bioderma one is meant to be really good but I’m scared to try!
I’ll stick to Emma Hardie cleansing balm.

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheT1meG0es · 12/04/2018 08:54

Both the Garnier and the LRP made my skin all red, stinging and itchy, I'd never use them again.

raindropsandsunshine · 12/04/2018 09:21

Very sensitive skin, I can't use it.

Glug44 · 12/04/2018 09:25

Simple’s cleansing oil is better. You pop the oil on your face with damp hands and then follow with cleanser and you don’t need to tone. Toning is drying and so shouldn’t be used for dry / mature skin.

Luckingfovely · 12/04/2018 10:02

For those that didn't get on with Miscellar Water - me either, brings me out in lumps.

This cleansing oil however I LOVE, it takes off everything including waterproof mascara, feels soft, and no reaction at all. I follow with Nip & Fab pads and my skin feels brilliant.

I like Micellar water. Currently using Garnier for sensitive skin and eyes (blue lid/blue oil layer). I have rosacea and find this one doesn't irritate my skin.

keepingbees · 12/04/2018 10:31

I like the Superdrug's own sensitive one (part of their sensitive range) it doesn't upset my skin and removes loads of muck even after cleansing.
I'm not keen on some of the others including Garnier as they seem to leave an oily residue (especially the argan oil one)
